I am a huge fan of Merrell footwear and purchase this brand more often than any other. I love the look and style of this "fashion sandal". However, the leather strapping across the top of the foot was pretty loose with no way to adjust it. I wear size 8.5 so I ordered a 9 b/c they say this sandal runs small and to order a half size up (I called Merrell directly about this even though I ordered from Amazon). The strap farthest up the foot right before the ankle wrap was so loose that I could easily stick my finger underneath it with room to spare. My additional concern was that the loosest strap also has some additional stretchy elastic sewn onto it, which I assume is to add even more flexibility to the strap if it had been too tight. So after a few months of wear this strap may stretch out even more. It just didn''t look right on my foot so I am returning them...
I know when some people complained of there being too much room in the sandle over their arches that I''d probably love this shoe. I have a difficult time with shoes that are not tie shoes due to my high arches. I love these sandles. I''ve gotten many complements. They shipped quickly. Ive had them about a month and wear them just about every weekend.

After reading the other two reviews, I was hopeful yet apprehensive when I ordered these in black. After wearing them for a few days, I can say that these are easily some of the most comfortable sandals that I own. The straps are not too tight but are definitely not loose across my feet; the ankle strap is shorter than expected, but still fits. The footbed is very well-cushioned and provides a fair amount of support, especially for a sandal. Overall, I am very happy with these and know I will be wearing them all summer!

i finally broke down and bought this sandal that I have been eyeing all summer.
Fit: I wear a 7.5, but they come only in half sizes.i originally bought the size 8, but I think they run a little big and my foot was swimming. I exchanged for a size 7 and it fits perfect.It is soft leather, so will stretch a little too.
Comfort: as with all Merrell''s, this shoe was instantly comfortable for strolling around town, running errands, or going to the beach.
Style: Slips on with a secure Velcro strap that wraps around the ankle.Sporty, gladiator style sandal. Cute with shorts, skirt, capris.i wear with jeans too, but jeans cover up the cuteness.

This is the first time I''ve purchased them online and even though I usually wear a 7.5 (European 38), I felt confident that the 7 would fit me since all my other Merrell sandals and shoes are size 7.
