I really like these shoes!!
Didn''t think I would, but the dusky pink color looked interesting so I bought them on impulse when I saw free shipping/returns. I have more than enough high heels -including two different shades of bright pink -so I figured these would look like those, more or less.
Wrong! These shoes are quite unique. First, the color is unusual, kinda like mauve rather than rose, you know? Just the slightest blue/violet undertone creates a muted, rather sophisticated shade. More like a neutral than a pop of color -a colored neutral, maybe??
From time to time, I''ll find a top or dress in this shade and it''s a bit of a joke for me to hold the material up to my face and suddenly my olive complexion looks sallow & sickly. Funny, though, this color totally works on my feet! The tones blend to create a long, lean leg the way a nude/beige shoe does, only this pinkish color is sooooo much more interesting. And fun!
And the gold studs add to the retro vibe, very 70''s -will work well with both skinny & bootcut jeans, as well as skirts & shorts.
Surprisingly easy to walk in, too. The heel is high but there''s a nice big platform in the front to help keep the foot angle manageable. Still, it''s a bit tricky to walk in and not something I''d wear clomping around the city for hours. But neither is it a pointy stiletto that will have you teetering thru every incline and praying you don''t snap a heel (or an ankle!).
One bummer, though: the item description says the sole is rubber but it''s not. It''s resin. Like, hard, cheap, plastic resin. The good news is, the shoe bottoms are covered by a grippy rubbery material that''s helpful when negotiating tile floors & such but does NOT offer much at all in the way of cushioning. If the soles were *all* rubber, though, these shoes would be super awesome and ridiculously walkable.
As they are now, they''re simply awesome and walkable, which I think is a lot to ask from shoes under thirty bucks, delivered!! Enjoy...
While this is a very comfortable shoe, the bungee cord that keeps it strapped together is weak.This is an expensive shoe, and the cord held together less than six months.
