I had back surgery a couple of months ago so any kind of heeled shoe is banned. I had a black tie dinner to attend with my husband and these shoes worked perfectly. I bought these boots a while ago because they looked awesome. Turns out that they are! I love ''em! Comfortable, stylish and forgiving if you have large calves. I found the toe of the boot to be just a touch narrow, so I moved up 1/2 a size to allow for more wiggle room for my toes. I travel a lot and prefer that my shoes allow for the natural swelling that occurs after spending an entire day walking, flying or riding a motorcycle. That being said, these are not motorcycle boots in my opinion, but more of a fashion boot. My boyfriend and I do a good bit of extended motorcycle touring, and I do not recommend these for those trips. I wore them recently for a 3 day get away and discovered that the heels on these will melt if you bump them against the pipes. Thankfully, I noticed the "melting hot glue" smell before any real damage was done. Also, keep in mind that the studs on them are little more pointy than in the picture so they can catch or scrape things.

I absolutely love these boots! I have been wearing them non-stop since they were delivered.

I did not experience the over-welling smell of the synthetic material, that another reviewer did, they''re was a faint smell but that is to be expected. I was at first a little unsure of what size to get, I had heard boots run different then shoes which I usually wear a 8/8.5. Other reviews said these boots did not leave enough "swell room", but I actually think the size is perfect for me. I purchased a size 8, and my foot measures roughly 10inches. To be sure I stopped into a store and tried on some boots, the store actually had these boots but in brown, very cute! When wearing the boots I have a tiny bit of space in front my toes, but not enough to have gone to a 7.5. If the tiny space seems to bother you, you could always shove a ball of tissue into the toe.

One more thing, measure around the base of your calf and make sure it is not too big, the boots measurements are listed in the description.

My personal opinion is you should buy these boots, the price is great, again, in store these wear priced around $60.

Sorel Men''s 1964 Premium T Boot

I live in chicago, and every year I managed to unconvince myself from buying a pair of heavy winter boots. luckily for me, this is the year I decided to bite the bullet and put down for a pair. A month later, chicago was blanketed in the blizz-aldo rivera 2011. but the boots held up fantastically. they kept warm and dry trudging through the walls of snow. One thing i''d have to point out though is i initially found the boots to be a little tight fitting.After a few weeks in, the boots broke in and although snug, feel like a good fit.I would definitely buy the same pair again.

I have 2 pairs of Sorel snow boots; this one and a pair of Caribou II. The Caribou II was the first pair I bought when I moved back to a snowy climate after 18 years, and then I bought this pair of 1964s for more of a work boot. While I would buy a pair of Caribou II again, I don''t think I''d buy another pair of these. I do a lot of work outside in the snow, such as shoveling, blowing, plowing, raking roofs and tree work.

The liner of the Caribou II is much more comfortable while the 1964''s is a very plain, compressed felt. I''m not really a fan of the 4 D-rings on the Caribou II because it''s hard to keep the lower laces tight while pulling it tight at the top, but pulling laces tight through the 8 eyelets of the 1964 is even harder, especially if you''re already suited up in snow pants. The tread on the bottom of the 1964 is also very basic and doesn''t provide much traction at all.

Size-wise I think these boots are sized just a little bit big. I usually wear 14W sneakers or 15M king toe work boots, but both of my snow boots are 14M and fit about right. The Caribou II is insulated a little better so I get by with only a pair of my regular boot socks, but the 1964 is a little thinner and so I wear a heavier wool sock which means a little tighter fit than the Caribou II.

If price is your concern, then these boots will keep your feet out of the snow but they''re not really impressive. If you''re looking for boots that you''ll like to wear, I suggest you look at the Caribou II.

Ordered these boots last week and so far I''m very happy with them. Sizing, as mentioned in many reviews, is a bit on the large size. I''m normally a 10.5 and since they don''t offer half sizes I went with a 10. With thick socks its a perfect fit.

The construction is solid, and the style is classic. I was shopping for winter boots that didn''t look like they were made for a tactical special ops soldier. As fun as is it is to think that I''m a special ops soldier the fact is I''m simply a man who needed winter boots. Less is more.

I bought these shoes in september expecting warmth above all.I ama montreal resident and this fall the weather has been comparatively mild. Watching my dog playing in the park showed me that these boots are not very warm!! If you are walking it seems to be better as your blood circulates.

The treads on these boots are awful for walking on ''slippery'' ice. Your feet slide off to the sides, as when you are walking your dog on the sidewalk depression in front of a driveway.This is because the treads on the soles are all in one direction! Believe me, this is really hazardous[for a broken hip] and you should buy another model with different tread pattern if you really want sorels.

Even though I bought my size these boots are hard to put on due to the felt liner which is too tight at the base of the leather on top of the foot.

I ordered these based on good reviews I''d read touting them as some of the toughest in the world. I received them in the mail about 3 weeks ago, and so far, I concur. They came well-boxed in retail boxing and included a hanger for if you wanted to sell these off the shelf.

+ When I pulled them out of the box, I was stunned at how thick the back of the soles were! The best word to describe them is MEATY! I tried them on first without doing the manufacturer-instructed thermo-moulding process to test fit, and the sizing seems spot-on for Men''s US-7. They seemed a bit tight, but after some wear and a bit of frolicking in the ocean, they''re perfect size.

+ The tread on the bottom is unorthodox, but the grip is for real-better than any other flip-flops I''ve seen or heard of by far.

+ The thermo-moulding process was simple, and you definitely have to thermo-mould them before you make any judgments on comfort, because they change shape significantly based on how you mould. Just follow the instructions to a tee. I used some foil to support them in the oven (just to ensure there weren''t unsightly rack marks), heated them to 225 degrees F, pulled them out, immediately put them on (they weren''t that hot), and stood on them for about 2 minutes. I then walked around a little to see how they felt. Here''s where I noticed a bit of an issue.

I walk VERY hard on the heels. Just to illustrate, I wore through a pair of cheap Wally World flip-flops in a weekend, "wore through" being defined as "asphalt showing through". Because the thermo-moulding process is based on how you walk and that sort, the heels, where I place a lot of my weight (this is my problem and not any of the shoes'') sank down, as designed. I bought these in an effort to find some that would last, and I am concerned this thinning may have reduced their service life. I will have to make sure I keep up with this review so I can provide my experience with the wear.

Furthermore, I believe, due to the initial before-break-in tightness, I might not have seated my feet completely into the flip-flops for the moulding process, so mine are a bit off-kilter. Lesson? Be ABSOLUTELY particular when you''re moulding them. The process has a profound effect on comfort, and, as far as I can tell, you can only do the process once. After you do it right, though, they feel AMAZING.

I attempted to contact customer support to see if the thermo-mould process could be re-executed, but it''s been a week, and they still haven''t gotten back to me for it. Points off for that. If they come back with a response, it''ll still be points off, but a lot fewer.

Overall, as long as you walk more normally than I do AND you''re comfortable baking your brand-new $50 flip-flops, I STRONGLY recommend these guys. They''re supremely comfortable and durable. Just make sure you do that moulding process right.

I have issues with my feet overpronation. Basically I have flat feet & they tend to turn inwards. I purchased a pair of orthaheels. Which they are awesome as well. Only issue with Orthaheels is break in period and straps streach after awhile. Also after break in period still can''t wear orthaheel for long period of time. Not the case with these Montrail Lithia. They are awesome, no break in period. Same arch height as Orthaheel. But better comfort, and thong does not stretch out.
