It''s great to see a shipping label from Jerusalem.
It took a while since it came from a different nation, but it came at the time expected.
True Jesus sandals.
The front bands are a little loose on me, but I''ll get used to it.After three years of teaching, Jesus enters Jerusalem knowing it is there he will meet his death. On the day before his death, he gathers his disciples to celebrate Passover with them. At the Last Supper, he speaks 31 times of the reason why he had to come up to the city. Constantly he refers to his Passion and Resurrection in terms of love and service to others.
"Amen, amen, I say to you. Unless the grain of wheat falls into the ground, it remains alone; but if it dies, it brings forth much fruit."
Then Jesus goes out with his disciples across the Cedron Valley to a garden to pray, a place known to Judas who will soon lead soldiers and police supplied by the chief priests to arrest Jesus.
Shepherd, teacher, philosopher, healer, miracle worker, God, man, Jesus is beaten, mocked, bound up and led before Pontius Pilate. A mob incited by the chief priests is waiting. "Crucify him! Crucify him!"
"What has he done?" Pilate asks. "I have not found anything in him deserving the death penalty."
But the mob shouts back "Crucify him! Crucify him!" and increases the shouts in violence.
When Jesus reached Golgotha they nailed him to a tree
drove great nails though his hands and feet and called it Calvary
crowned him with a crown of thorns, red were his wounds and deep
for those were crude and cruel days when human flesh was cheap.
When Jesus came to Los Angeles they simply passed him by
they never harmed a hair of him, they only let him die
for men had grown more tender, they would not give him pain
they only passed him down the street and left him in the rain.
Jesus said, "Forgive them, they know not what they do."
still the rain, the wintry rain. drenched him through and through
the crowds went home, left the streets without a soul to see
Jesus crouch down against a wall and cry for Calvary.
