When I need to look professional or swanky but a minimal sandal is all I can stand, I reach for my Faras. I had two pairs of them: one in silver (officially pewter, I believe) and the other in black. The thong broke on the black ones and I had it resewn at the cobblers. However, the repair created a miniscule little bump btwn my toes and it was just enough to create an abrasion every time I wore them. I threw out the black ones :( and I miss them.Today I wore the silver ones with leggings and a gauzy summer top. I threw on a textural scarf, some gorgeous artful silver earrings and the ensemble took me from work to a hipster dance performance.
I don''t find my faras to be "sneaker-comfy". After about 4 hours on my feet, I was ready to kick them off. But they don''t give me blisters. They don''t make my arches fall and my foot cramp up like regular flat flipflops. And they look chic.
Wish they came in a dozen colors.
