ALPRO P 250 Suede

I''ve had Birkenstocks of one kind or another for more than 30 years.I was excited to see the Alpro line as it reminded me of other Birks that are similar to the popular variety but a little special.A bit less expensive doesn''t hurt either.These are quite well made and I''m interested to see how having the straps sewn directly into the footbed holds up as opposed to the method where they are glued across the sides.

My only disagreement is that the inside stitching does change the width of the shoe to a degree.I ordered a pair of the Alpro 220 in the same size and it fit as expected where these were noticeably tight.From experience, I know the uppers will stretch with wear and that will not continue to be an issue.Still, I figure they should be the same right out of the box rather than a few weeks of wear down the road.

Frankly though, we''ve all had uncomfortable sandals that were badly designed and these are much nicer.It appears the soles are a bit sturdier, have to verify that when I have my 100 mile check-up!

These are the most comfortable Birkenstocks I own.I like that the cork is covered and can''t be destroyed. The heel is soft and they are wide enough even they say they are narrows.
