Birkenstock Gizeh Sandal

I own a bunch of Birkenstocksandals... but these were a fabulous surprise.I have them in the Golden Brown which is really more like an antique bronze (very much the same color as the button that appears on the toe piece). It''s a subtle metallic and in no way garish. A little more formal than plain brown but not vulgar like some golds can be.

Most of my Birkenstocks are the heavier looking sandals with multiple cross straps but these provide the SAME KIND OF SUPPORT without the heavy look.It''s a much softer looking profile, better for skirts/dresses/shorts.And most surprising to me was the toe piece.It''s very comfortable. (Typically this sort of style would drive me crazy.) As always, Birkenstock products are wonderfully comfortably, very durable and these, in particular, are VERY STYLISH.

If you were hesitating about buying these, don''t worry.I''ll be ordering more.

I absolutely LOVE this sandal.I got the whitevery stylish and cute.SO COMFORTABLE! They fit like a glove. I''ve gone on walks with them.Plenty of support. The strap goes high over foot so they don''t slide off like many sandals.I will buy another pair when these die.

These were in perfect condition, true to size, and as well made as any Birkenstocks.I tried them on immediately on carpet, knowing that Birkenstocks require a few days of breaking in before they fit one''s foot like a glove. Unfortunately the Gizeh toe piece -a thick black plastic strap -is uncomfortably thicker than the Birko-flor toe piece on my favorite Birkenstock Mayari sandals. Also, the thong didn''t seem to be holding the shoe on well; it kept bending and letting my toes come up past the toe piece.Maybe it''s the patent "leather."Maybe I''m just not hip enough.Anyway, back they went.

I was very excited when I found these sandals on amazon.I bought them to wear on vacation in Italy, and felt that they would go with anything and could bring less in the shoe department with me.I wore them at home for several weeks to break them in, and thought that they would be fine since I have owned Birkenstock sandals before, but after getting there, and all the walking that we were doing, no luck, I ended up buying another pair of sandals to wear. They were killing my feet.Seven months later, I took them back out again tosee if I could break them in some more, before we go on a european cruise in May, and again, I am sorry to say that I am unable to wear them for any length of time.They are fine for wearing for a short run to the store, or if you are not going to be on your feet for extended amount of time, otherwise I cannot recommend them for comfort.They look so nice, and I am very disappointed that they are still so stiff to wear.At least they only cost me $19. dollars by using my Amazon CC points.

Go size smaller!!I wear 8 to 81/2 or small 9.I need a 38 in women''s Birkenstock.Love these shoes!They are helping my back and legs and hips and cute.Toe post taking some getting used to as it is very thick.This is my first try with Birkenstock.I got carried away and ordered 3 pair(2 styles) which are all too big because I ordered the 39(which shows it SHOULD be right).I am urging my daughter with bigger feet to wear them as I can''t return them after wearing(please don''t you do it either.. GROSS)I am waiting on my correct size replacements to arrive from Amazon next week.
