Funtasma by Pleaser Men''s Halloween Walker-130

Walker-130 Boot, Black Pu, Size Small(8/9)I got these boots in the mail a few weeks ago. They were received in the stated time frame, as promised, & appear to be of good quality for the money. I bought them to use as part of a Star Wars costume I''ve been making for my son, Sith Lord Starkiller from the Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition to be exact. I''m a member of the 501st Legion, which is a worldwide costuming group that makes professional quality costumes of villians from the Star Wars movies. I''ve been looking for some decent quality boots for this costume for some time.I didn''t want to break the bank, as I am on a budget, even if it''s a lot more than the typical person would spend for a costume. I currently have 6-8 months build time & approx. $600-$800 invested in the costume! I know this seems like a lot, but for a high quality costume, that''s really dirt cheap! I personally have $8000 invested in my Darth Vader costume. Call me crazy, but screen accurate gear cost $$$. Nearly every piece of my costumes is either custom handmade by me, or by friends within the 501st legion. Of course, some parts, like boots, frequently have to be bought off the shelf, & then modified to suit the the intended purpose. These boots are no exception. Keep in mind, good quality leather boots of a similar design would easily cost $200 and up! These boots in brown would also be a suitable start for an Anakin Ep III costume. Even though I knew I''d be modifying these to achieve the look I wanted for the Starkiller costume, I am VERY pleased with the quality of these. My son & I attend a lot of events & conventions in full costume, & one thing I''ve learned is that your foot wear needs to hold up to the rigors of a large amount of walking. So far, these boots have held up remarkably well.I ordered the boots in large (12-13), as my son wears an 11-12. I wanted a little room for him to be able to grow into them, as he''s only 14. With some gel inserts, they fit like a glove. I definitely recommend these boots! Time will tell if they hold up for the long duration, but so far they''ve exceeded my expectations, especially when compared with other non-leather costuming boots I''ve bought in the past. Buy with confidence! I HIGHLY recommend these boots!

Great looking boots, well worth the purchase, just don''t have anymeat on your calves. These things were designed for the super skinny in mind.I am a thick person, but my calves are not huge by any means, yet I could not zip the inside zipper up past my lower shin. Not to fret, I ripped the zipper out, put in eylets, and laced the damn boots up using the outer piece on the inside opening to add to the effect of the leather lace up.Look sharp now, and fit now.So, boots are okay, as long as your no more then 140# sopping wet.

I bought these to be used with a Star Wars Sith costume. They''re costume boots, for a good price, and they look pretty good. The ridged thing in front is just an insert under the belts. They looked terrible. I took them out. The belts try to hold it in place, but it doesn''t really work. the belts, by the way, don''t come off on the one I received. Without the insert, they''re a bit loose. They don''t look horrible that way, but if you want a tighter look or really like the ridges, I''d skip these. For the price, though, you can''t really beat this. Where else can you get a boot in this style for this price?

In any case, I was going for a Starkiller look from the Force Unleashed games, so all I ended up doing is taking some cloth and wrapping these boots up in any case. Still, I have to say it seems to be put together pretty well. You''re not buying leather, but it looks close enough to count for costume purposes. I would recommend getting some of those liners for the bottom, though, as these boots leave a lot to be desired for overall foot comfort. They''re just flat, inside, with a very basic liner in there with very little cushion. They were a little big on me, but pretty close, which was awesome considering it was a generic size to cover 2 full foot sizes. I''m normally a size 10-10.5 depending on manufacturer, sometimes wide too, and these still fit pretty well.

If you''re looking for actual boots, skip these, and buy a real pair of boots. For a costume, though, these worked out pretty well. I can''t really complain (even though I just did) about these since they did the job and for a price I could live with. I''ll use these a bunch more before I''m done with them and have confidence that they''ll be up to the task.

I purchased these to go with a Jedi Knight costume. They arrived in the exact time I was told they would and the price was fair. For the price and my needs these boots are just fine. My review is about the aspects of the boot that may be deal breakers for others.

I wear a 10 ½ shoe and the 10-11 Med size fits my foot very nicely. I added Dr Schools sports inserts for my own comfort. They have a sturdy build and will hold up nicely for Cons. They are not intended for running around the desert of Tattooine.

Reviews indicated that they are tight around the calves and that is true. They would be loose on a calf with a 16" circumference, bigger than that, you may not be happy. I am working on stretching them out a bit before I have to wear them at Cons.

The front decorative piece is not attached to the boot. It is held in place by the small ''belts''. I used a little bit of hand stitching to secure the front piece from moving around and now it looks fine.

One more thing, minor but I want to share: they were shipped in a box for more normal sized shoes. So they were folded in half. I unboxed them and stuffed them with old tee shirts to stretch them and get the fold lines out.

I''m not really that big a guy, but there''s no way that these will fit around calves thicker than 16" without Professional Alteration by a cobbler. I''ve yet to find out how much that''s going to cost me.

Also, these were a gift from a friend, and when he tried to return them, they invoked the 3-Day Return policy, even though we didn''t know that there was a problem until 5 days had passed. I''m pretty steamed about that; It would seem to me that a gift-situation should be an Acceptable Extenuating Circumstance...

My review in 10 words or less: Don''t Buy Unless You''re Skinny And Sure They''ll Fit You!
