Teva Women''s Dozer III Sandal

Taking to heart the other reviewer''s advice, I ordered the Dozer III half a size larger. She was right: the sandal fit very well -space for my toes, no part of my foot apparently rubbing or slipping -and I thought I''d found the perfect hiking sandal. How wrong I was.

Unfortunately, the only way to wear in walking shoes is to... walk. And that''s when the disaster happened. The back strap of the sandals bit into my heels (three places in the left, one in the right), causing painful blisters in just a couple of hours of light walking. The one in my right heel was especially nasty. They were so bad all I could wear afterwards were flip-flops and clogs.

There seems to be a particularly critical place, where the strap meets a vertical reinforcement that ends in the sole. Also, this vertical piece isn''t well padded at all (although the back of the strap itself is), so rubbing is almost inevitable.

Apart from this deal-breaker (can''t return them now, can I?), another thing that bothered me were the innersoles, covered with some rougher material that isn''t so nice -if I ever dare to wear these shoes again, after my blisters heal, I''ll use an insole. Otherwise, the Dozer III seems to be well made and solid. I liked them. My feet didn''t.

I ordered these in my regular size and they are too short in the toe.They are exactly what I''m looking for, so I have ordered a half size larger in the hope that they will fit better.I had the same size issue with the Keen Venice H2 closed-toe sandal.My regular size was too short in the toe and the half size larger was too large. Update on previous review:The half size larger fits better in the toe, but because of the angle of the back strap, the heel of the foot does not go completely to the back of the sole. The arch support is prominent, so if you don''t like to feel the arch support this isn''t the shoe for youI will keep them since they are waterproof and practical for my trip to Africa.Post Africa trip update: These were the best sandals for my African safari.I found them extremely comfortable, they provided good support and toe protection and were very secure on my foot.The prominent arch support wasn''t uncomfortable once I began wearing them.I was able to rinse the dust out every night and they were dry by morning.I didn''t have any of the rubbing/blistering issues reported by other wearers. I didn''t feel any rough areas inside the shoe. Fit and comfort are very personal and hard to generalize.

I read quite a few of the reviews before ordering these because I didn''t understand why the rating wasn''t higher. I''ve had at least 10 pair of these Teva Dozers. I wear them so much that I wear them out. I love the new pair I just received. I waited a few weeks to write my review because I thought perhaps the fit would be off or some other problem based on the reviews on Amazon.

I wear an 8 1/2 and am probably more of an 8 1/4 in my right foot. My feet are flat and they tend to be hot. These athletic shoes are fully vented and keep my feet nice and cool even on a hot day. I always wear socks with them; but that''s just a personal choice. I suppose you could wear them without socks just as comfortably.

They did make some changes to the styling but I find them just as comfortable as previous versions and I also find them true to size. I wear a US 8.5; I ordered a US 8.5 and they fit perfectly. If anything, I think they''ve actually managed to improve them somewhat as I feel I am getting more support and a little snugger fit which helps to hold my foot in a proper position.

I love these shoes. I will keep wearing them almost daily for as long as they make them. I especially like the Raven color as it is a good, dark neutral color.

I work out, shop, hike and run errands in these shoes. I''d rather have them on in the house than go barefoot for the support they provide. Thanks Teva for another worthy generation of Dozers.

We bought both mens''s and women''s versions of these sandals and are pleased with both.They hold up well, are very comfortable to wear, were accurate with sizing and with the materials they are made of, they hold up well wet or dry.For a large part of the summer they have been our chosen footwear.With the closed toe design they are safer than open toed shoes and are actually stylish enough to wear just about anywhere.In addition, the velcro strap and the ingenious design with the "laces" makes it very easy to adjust the width of the shoes for anyone.We have slim feet and they were adjustable to fit well either with or without socks.

I haven''t found any negatives yet thus the 5 star rating.Day in and out they are fast becoming our favorite choice in non formal footwear.

The rivers around here are full of rocks, most smooth but still not pleasant to stand on. We do a lot of fishing and camping and these are perfect!!!! I can wear them from fishing hole to fishing hole during the summer and wade out without that awful wet sneaker feeling and without wearing hot boots during the summer heat! They are also good for just wading or visiting the swimming hole. Good for camping, too.
