I got a lot of compliments on these shoes. They are a real eye-catcher. They feel quite high at first (well, they are high), but they are well balanced, have good padding for the ball of the foot, and the heel feels sturdy without looking like a heavy block. I have a normal arch and found that the angle of the shoe was well placed. The suede is kept to the upper parts, so there is less risk of ruining it. There''s plenty of room in the toe for someone with medium or wide toes. A narrow foot would likely rattle around in them.

The negative: It could use some padding up at the heel. The heel has a rubber tip, but the sole is completely smooth. Mind those slippery surfaces! And the strap only has two holes, so you are limited in how much you can adjust the size. But the strap does have an elastic, so it is forgiving when you walk.

I was looking for an updated strappy sandal and had resigned myself to the fact they would hurt as most high-heeled strappy sandals do.(I was ready to take the hit because black sandals are a summer must, no?)I put these on and wore them 4 days in a row they were so comfortable, versatile and stylish.They didn''t even need to be "broken in." I wore them for hours each of those first days without the hint of a blister, and how after months of wearing they feel like slippers (except for the high heels-very high heels).Because of the great look and comfort, I will search shoes by Charles in the future.By the way these look great with various length skirts, dresses and pants . . . they seem to work with everything needing a pair of black shoes.
