FOOTPRINTS Unisex Madeira Fisherman Shoe

Nicely made as always from Birkenstock licensees, but what Amazon is selling as medium, normal width (what it says on the box)is actually the narrowest of three Birkenstock/Footprints widths, the filled-in footprint printed inside the heel. If you are a D or M width in US sizes, this won''t fit you. Medium width is the outlined footprint. Their automated returns process doesn''t make provision for this type of problem. I was sorry to have to return them and lost the shipping charges in the process.

Really disappointed.I have a number of pairs of Birkenstocks, and a pair of Footprints, and these ran quite small in comparison.The leather probably would last a long time if you could bear to break these in-it had no give at all and the toebox could have been steel-toed, as inflexible as it was.These went back.Too bad, I''m still looking for a decent pair like this but now not sure if it''s worth trying another pair.It annoys the heck out of me to go through the purchasing process then have to return an item because the manufacturer changes their standards.

FYI: Birkenstock has been making shoes since the late 1800''s. Anther review is complaining about the stiffness of the shoe. Anyone that has owned Birks.. & Now Footprint shoes knows, full well, there is a "break in period". The Madeira is the most comfortable shoe I''ve ever owned. You will not go wrong buy making this purchase!
