I was so excited when I received these shoes and opened the box.The color is a beautiful soft orange and the leather is a kind of soft leather/nubuck--a gorgeous shoe.However, a caution: I wear a 10-1/2 to 11 US but I have learned that European sizes vary (these were made in Romania) so to be on the safe side I ordered a size 42 (a size 12 according to the shoe manufacturer). They are a good fit in the shoe bed (but I could not have worn them if they had been 1/2 inch shorter), so I would say they run one to one and a half sizes smaller than the stated US equivalent.The sticking point is the slingback strap that goes around the heel: it''s too short to buckle once you get the shoes on! I should add that I don''t have thick ankles or fat heels or something else that would account for the problem.
I am trying to decide if I like them enough to take them to a shoe shop and have them add about an inch to the strap or just send them back.Now maybe I got a defective pair, but it''s so disappointing that quality control is no longer in the lexicon of manufacturers; and that I would have to pay again after already paying for the shoes.
So be warned.
But they are beautiful.
