Taos Women''s Gift Sandal

Being an older woman who does not indulge in tanning, the skin on my feet is not very attractive. Sandals with little thin straps that allow lots of bare skin to show are just not that appealing to me because I know my feet are not that great looking despite my best efforts to maintain a fresh pedicure. These sandals show off the pedicure andcover up a lot of pale, aging skin. But the best thing about these sandals is the comfort. They are wonderful to wear! The footbed is soft and cushy so you don''t get the sweaty feet that come with leather (or-perish the thought!-vinyl) linings. The thong part between the toes (which I normally hate) is soft and comfortable. The leather upper material is glove soft and feels great on my feet, hugging them just enough to keep the shoes securely on but not so snug that it feels like I am wearing a winter shoe. Design-wise, I love the seam with the gathering, but I was worried that it would be uncomfortable against my foot; it isn''t at all. I was surprised about the person who commented that she is having a problem with the width. I usually take a 9W or 9-1/2 W, in my shoes, but the 9 fits me just fine. My Pilates teacher even approved of these, and she is adamant about how I should not even think about "flip-flops." With these sandals, my toes do not have to do all the curling to keep the shoe on my foot, which means that my gait is not altered as it would be with ordinary thong-type sandals. They are fairly lightweight and easy to pack. They feel almost like house shoes. I can''t think of anything I don''t like about them except that I would love it if I could get them on sale. I would buy two or three more pairs just so I can still have them in seasons to come when these wear out, which is likely since I wear them more than any shoe in my (ridiculously large) collection. Highly recommend.

I guess I have a wide foot, though I usually wear an average sandal.

Although I loved the style and quality of these shoes, the top was a bit snug and the edge of my foot hung off and it made my heel twist inward and not sit straight in the shoe.

I might have kept them even with that because they were so cute if they were wider.

These are great shoes if you''re looking for something more substantial than ordinary flip flops. I wore them straight out of the box walking around the Disney parks for three days and they were amazingly comfortable.
