Buy Kamik Women''s Canuck Boot Now
The boots are sturdy and well insulated. The only thing I have trouble with is getting it to hug my feet tight enough with the bungees to avoid the boots from flopping around on my feet when I walk. However, that could simply be that the boot is too large for me.I ordered 1/2 a size larger than normal footwear to ensure I had room for winter socks... and it was completely unnecessary. The boots offer good traction on snow and ice.Overall, good purchase! Stick to true size!Read Best Reviews of Kamik Women''s Canuck Boot Here
These are very comfortable well-made boots... light-weight and true to size. I love them!!! There was one/possibly two problems, though. I found a small OPEN puncture... about the size of a diaper pin in the rubber on the top part of the boot... right next to the seam. I''m surprised I even spotted it... but happy that I did before I experienced any leakage as I will be working/walking in slushy snow come spring. Also... one boot is shiny while the boot with the puncture is dull looking. Had it not been for the puncture, I would have given these boots 5 stars.
I will be contacting Kamik... afterwhich I will come back and update this review. Sharing a photo would have been nice for verification purposes... but this site only supports video, not jpegs.
UPDATE (03 February 2011)
I sent a photo to Kamik and they informed me that it was a factory defect and suggested that I return the boots. Okay... so here''s the low-down, Kamik. I already paid full price for a defective product and I was not willing to spend more money on postage to return them. So much for quality control, eh??? And... my old boots (which leaked like a sieve) had already gone out to the garbage the moment these new boots arrived... and I NEEDED these boots NOW... not 2/3 weeks down the road. To make a long story short... I''m thinking that a 20% refund would have been nice... but was not offered. So-o-o Kamik... I will wear these boots... and if I notice any damage due to leakage... I''m going to ask for a new pair of boots... compliments of Kamik. We''ll just have to see what happens.
So just a reminder... examine your boots carefully upon arrival... and order them EARLY so that you have time to return/replace them before the cold weather arrives. Lesson learned.
UPDATE: 27 November 2011...
If you have alot of snow and ice (particularly GLARE ICE) that you have to contend with... you might want to compliment these boots with a pair of... Yaktrax Pro Traction Cleats for Snow and Ice just as an added safety precaution. This boot is easy to get on and off, which is convenient when walking the dog.I fell through small puddles of ice and the boots were waterproof, even the upper part of the boot. The boot is rated for negative 40 degrees but I can feel the cold when walking through the snow when I am in the woods for an hour.
