Positives: a boot that I wear just as appropriately to work as I do to play. The color is a beautiful dark mossy green that pairs well with black, brown, jean, etc. Leather is an excellent quality. Entry is easy if you unlace enough (obviously), even though it''s a lace up. The fit is supportive and comfortable--I have not yet hiked in them, but I believe they would work well. Do NOT gap around the ankle like many other ankle boots that I''ve tried, and so they look super cute with skirts as well. The whole fit is crafted truly beautifully and true to a classic vintage design.
Negatives: It''s taking a little bit to break them in (and they did indeed need breaking in). The leather about the ankle and up is supple, soft, and beautifully comfortable. However, the box is still softening up and was uncomfortable the first few days I wore them. I only wore them a few hours at a time. and I would suggest ordering up one size.
Would I suggest them?ooooooh siiiii. Even though they require breaking in, they seem like a boot that will last (as most shoes that require breaking in do last a while, or at least I''ve found that to be so), and are versatile to fit my lifestyle (teacher, dancer, outdoor enthusiast, traveler, sitter-quiet-in-coffeeshops-thinking-in-comfortable-shoes-but-would-rather-be-barefoot).These boots are extremely comfortable (you have to get the sole rubberized if you live somewhere where it gets icy) and look great with jeans and dresses alike. Worth every penny.
