Dolce Vita Women''s Daphne Knee-High Boot

These boots are so gorgeous, I bought them in 2 colors! They are easy to get on and off, and fit very true to size. I am 5'' 8'''', and they come all the way to my knees. The heel height is just right, and gives good support. Leather quality is excellent. I have high arches, and was worried that they would be a problem to get into, but there is enough room in the ankle, and I can even wear them over skinny jeans. I just LOVE them!

I have been searching for taupe wedge boots all year, and finally settled on these due to a really good sale.I really want to love them, but I only like them.The color is okay but I wish it was just a tad darker.The leather covered wedge heel is interesting, but not as flattering in person as I had hoped.The boot definitely runs true to size and my standard 7.5 fit perfectly, with room for thick socks too.I am pretty short (5 ft. 3) and these boots hit right at my knee, which makes for an awkward height.I might get them shortened so that the backs of the boot tops don''t rub against my knees.

I had done a fair amount of research before buying these boots. I was looking to replace a beautiful pair of italian leather flat knee-high boots that I had owned & loved for a few years and finally decided upon this pair. The price of the Daphne boot was right and the small wedge heel was appealing.

Good points :

* The top of the boot truly reaches the knee.

* The calf of the boot is not constructed as generously wide as most that I have tried on recently. This is a plus, I am 5''8 and 128. On my frame many boots appear unfilled and unstructured. I have found the designers have been catering to those with greater, bulkier legs than my own. Not the case here. A good find!

* They are an extremely confortable pair of boots. The soles are made of leather and lend to flexibility. You can definately wear them all day and into the night and your feet do not feel the least bit tired.

Bad point :

* The leather quality... Are they leather? Questionable. Either a low grade or perhaps a good "pleather". Imagine wrapping your legs in a bread bag all day and releasing them... Sorry, but there is an issue here with "breathability" and well, these boots do not smell nice. A problem I''ve never experienced before.

Overall I would not recommend them.
