I ordered in black. I have a weird dislike of shiny black leather shoes because in my mind it usually reads: cheap looking. But a girl''s collection is not complete without black leather boots. So when I spied the Heidi, which boasts an equal suede to flat leather ratio, I snapped it up. One side suede for Dr. Jekyll, the other your Mr. Hyde. (There''s a animal skin pun in there somewhere.)Problem is, I payed full retail price. Within days I saw them all over the web for much less. My review may reflect my slight resentment...as if you can catch them on sale, a good sale, these are worth it. If not, eh, not so much. I find the DV brand a real hit or miss. Nicer than many similar brands, but pricier than they should be vs quality. The Heidi, also, yields mixed results. It''s stiff--not much give in the toe or where the shoe should naturally break when you bend to walk. Combined with zero cushion in the sole, I wouldn''t recommend standing for hours. I''ve had some issues with visible scuffing so you have to tread very lightly or they look prematurely worn in. They fit TTS but the ankle dimensions, for my preference, should be more narrow/snug. The zipper occasionally sticks too, which is always annoying. However, I have far less comfy platform boots, and the quality of the leather, scuffing aside, is pretty decent. This style of boot, for lack if a more PC description, looks like the footwear provided for a clubfoot. And yet, it''s suddenly chic to bounce around in a virtual block of a boot. So I am not convinced these are flattering for anyone. But I hopped on the trend train and these DVs will get me through the 2011-2012 winter. By next year, we''ll all have moved on. Remember, they''re nice enough but only if deeply discounted..because there''s too many other boots in this exact style for about 1/2 less. You''re really paying, or at least I did, for the more novel suede and regualr leather mix.

True to size, neutral color so they match everything, the wedge is comfy & not to high. I recommend these to the world.

I usually wear a 7.5 to 8M and the 7.5M was WAY too small even without a sock.Very tight instep.I am even thinking of going up to the 8 1/2M so I can wear a sock with them. They make your foot look very small and attractive sexy silhouette. These look good with pants that go over the shoe and with long skirts/skinny jeans where the whole shoe is exposed.Because of the neutral light color (beige), they visually elongate the leg. They seem very stable when walking in them as well. The leather is thin glove leather but they are lined so feel like they will last and not wrinkle too easily.I think they will be comfortable when I get a big enough size.I am 49, 5''5", 120 lb. (Online reviews that share objective info from people who have had the opportunity to touch, see & try on web items are the most valuable as opposed to subjective personal preference opinions.I hope I have provided valuable information to help your purchase decision.)
