UPDATE:
After wearing them almost every day for a few weeks during the bleak Ohio winter, I must sadly change my review and dock a star. They quickly got scuffed up (even though I only ever walk short distances outside and on sidewalks) beyond repair. Worst of all, a seam on the back split, and the sole seems to be coming away from the shoe, so I''ve been getting cold and wet in rain and snow. They just seem to be a bit shoddy.
So sad because they are so pretty, and I have gotten tons of compliments.. :(I''m 5''5" and 115 lbs, calves are 13", size 8.5. They come up over my knee.
I have these boots in both the black and the cognac. The leather is very fragile and thin, so on the cognac, you will find some marks and scuffs, and color differences. I originally bought them from endless and they had been worn! They had wear on the heels and bad nail scratches on the fragile leather, but the color consistency was good. Back they went. I got them from isaay and the coloring of the different leather pieces were abhorrent! It resembled a checkerboard on both sides of the right boot with the cuffs up! Back they went. I then got them from Amazon and they are acceptable. They had a few marks here and there, and some diffence in color on the leather and uneveness of leather texture, and even missing color near the sole where the stitching is, but I did get them on sale (59.99), so I''m keeping them. The black pair is better in color consistency since it is so black, you don''t see the flaws as much.
They do slouch quite a bit at the ankles and are wide for my calves, but jeans help keep them up. The leather color also can be different from the shaft once you fold the cuffs down next to it. The insole at the forefoot is non-existent and hard, so I bought Dr. Scholls insole inserts which pad it nicely.
Also, the Chinese Laundry Nitros are the exact same boot as the Night Owls.
Be warned that Chinese Laundry can have some cheap-looking boot leather, and the quality control is not great, but they are definitely on-trend with the low heel and round toe. Cute with not a lot of stuff on them to detract.
If you can get a decent pair, they are a good value since they''re not expensive.

I love the style and the look. But, I am almost positive that someone had worn these before me and messed up the heel of the boot. There are tiny stains, and they just look worn out.Great brand, but stay away from this seller!!!Read Best Reviews of Chinese Laundry Women''s Night Owl Boot Here
I read some reviews saying these were large on the calf, so I thought ''great, I can tuck my jeans into these!'' I am quite a petite girl, but I have a moderately athletic build. These boots are so tight on my (normal sized) calves, I can only wear tights or leggings if I want to wear these as over the knee boots. Strongly considering taking these back as they won''t serve the purpose I hoped they would! Also, the shoe itself is pretty narrow so if you have wide feet this is probably not the best option. These boots fit wayyy too big like about a size or 2. They''re cute though, but i had to send them back. Be aware of this!
