Palladium Women''s Pampa Tactical Boot

Palladium Women''s Pampa Tactical Boot,Black/Old Rose,7.5 M USVery happy with the boots!

They''re lightweight, comfy, and surprisingly breathable considering all the rubberized leather on them. Well designed (love the stash pocket) and very durable. Perfect for some serious trekking.

There are a few things you should know about them though:

1. The rubberized leather looks more like matte finish rubber then leather, but it''s not shiny. the whole top of the lower foot is this material.

2. The lining is rather plentiful, making the top of the boots a bit fluffy. It''s silky with a pink flower print throughout the whole boot, including matching insoles. Lining''s not removable.

3. You have to wear them loosely laced. This is Palladium''s signature style, however if you try to lace them super tight the lining presses in on you too much and the snap button won''t reach. (I think I have average sized calves, they could have made that button a bit further in.)Also, if laced tightly you won''t be able to use the zipper alone to put them on or take ''em off, since the zipper doesn''t reach the very bottom of the heel and won''t open wide enough. Mine are brand new so maybe they just need to stretch.

4. I''ve heard a lot about them running a half size small. I typically wear a Men''s size 5 (In woman''s I''m in between a 7 and a 7 1/2) and their woman''s 7 1/2 fits me perfectly.

Despite these minor details, the boots look great and are light n'' comfy. The pink details on the lining, tongue and heel logo give them a great "tough girl" feminine touch. Love ''em overall.

Great boots and hard to find in Bostononly advice I could give is that these fit more like a sneaker not a shoeso i bought a 6.5 and usually wear a 7 in shoes I could''ve fit a 6 easily.

These boots are awesome. They not only do the job but they look amazing too. I can wear them all day and they are so comfortable. If you want to wear them casually they also look great with your casual jeans or pants. I really like the floral print on the inside because it gives them a feminine touch. I would recommend these to any female.

I got these boots because a friend of mine loves her''s. I have been tromping through the snow with them and I am pretty impressed, no water leaks through to my socks, they grip great on everything up to ice. They are really cute as well as they can be worn a lot of different ways.

Just thought I''d let the hikers out there know that this boot is a great buy despite not being clearly marketed as a trail-worthy item.

My partner and I bought a matching pair of these back in October, right before a 10-day hiking trip across the Southwest. These bad boys cushioned our footfalls through 9 national parks across some moderate and rugged trails on rock, soil, and sand. The sole grips rocks (even wet ones) quite securely and, despite its thickness, is extremely flexible for running, jumping, and whatever else requires that you balance on the ball of your foot for a bit. I''ve had other so-called hiking boots that were terribly inflexible, so any running or oddly-placed steps were at-best uncomfortable and at-worst painful. These boots were absolutely fantastic on the trails; the only thing I can''t comment on is water-resistance. We didn''t cross any streams, so I''m still wondering about that. If we hit that kind of trail in the future, I''ll try to remember to update this review.

Unlike a previous reviewer, neither of us had any problems with zipping, tying, or snapping these boots. Both of us have athletic body types and my calves have a 16-inch circumference. I prefer my laces super-tight all the way to the top and was still able to just use the zipper to pull them on and off pretty easily. Maybe her boots had a slight imperfection or the leg opening gets wider for larger sizes. Who knows.

I''m usually very opposed to the color pink and things with flowers on them, but I have to admit that this distinction helped me easily differentiate my pair from my partner''s pair in the morning. I guess I''m glad I didn''t buy myself the men''s version, as I had originally intended.

I wear an 8.5M and bought the size 9. I prefer moderately thick socks when hiking and found that these fit perfectly for me.

BTW, we got a lot of compliments on these boots during our trip. I know that doesn''t speak to how well they work, but is still worth noting for those who care.

I now wonder if Palladium makes any winter boots. I might even try to wear these with thick, wool socks to see if the tread is any good in the snow.
