These shoes are very comfortable. The size was true (size 9). I have slightly wider feet than average, and these shoes accommodated the wider width. I did not notice that these shoes were "cooler" than any other type, but they are comfortable to wear in the 100 degree heat experienced this summer in the Midwest.
