Keen Men''s Venice Sandal

Keen Men''s Venice Sandal,Walnut,15 M USKeen''s are without a doubt the SUV''s of sandals. Rugged, protective and up for the elements, these things can handle any terrain.

I specifically purchased these for walking in rocky water and also for using at outdoors parties. They are prefect for both activities! These are easy to swim in and stay securely on your feet when in water. Forging rocky creeks, rivers and shorelines has never been easier.

Yet at the same time, these things are stylish enough to wear out to weekend bbq''s and even outdoor clubs. I have showed up to outdoor dance clubs and danced the day away in them. The protective top cap is essential they''ve protected my toes from high heels and errant broken glass many times.

The footbed is amazing over the course of the first month you can feel it molding itself around your foot. The sole has also proven itself to be extremely durable.

The only downside to my Keen sandals is that when you are walking on a sandy beach, sand tends to collect in the toe cap. This can be a problem if the sand is particularly hot.

In all, my Keen''s were worth the money and I wouldn''t hesitate to recommend them or buy another pair. While I still love Reef flip-flops, my Keen''s have become the essential sandal for city living.

**edit** After using these for a year, I still enjoy them greatly. However, they take FOREVER to dry out after getting wet. To become fully dry, they take around 24 hours. These are great for city living, but not so good if you''ll be using them in the water and need them to dry out quickly. I would probably downgrade my rating to 3.5 or 4 stars out of 5.

I first heard of Keens when studying at an outdoor science station last summer.A number of my classmates had them and raved about how comfortable they were and how readily they were able to meet the elements.I was impressed, but found the $100 price tag daunting.

I then saw my outdoorsy brother wear them wherever he went.He never buys things of low quality, and so I knew they had to be good.

When there was a big Keen sandal sale, I started looking for which Keen sandal I would like to buy.I read up on reviews stating how the KEEN Newport and Newport H2 tended to be hot, smelly, and unbreathable, so I decided to go with the Venice.

The Venice turned out to be a great, breathable alternative to the Newport.I bought this shoe knowing that my feet get sweaty and that I would need more breathability.

The Aegis Microbe Shield works wonders, as my other shoes tend to stink up easily and my KEENs haven''t.Because of the Microbe Shield alone, I think the KEEN Venice has an edge over the Venice H2.I also like the more traditional waterproof leather straps (vs. the H2''s polyester webbing) in its more traditional look and its ability to be worn into.

The only cons have to do with my hard-to-manage feet (though the cons are still worth mentioning). If your feet are sweaty (like mine), after a long day of walking you''ll start to feel the footbed sticking to your foot, which feels gross and uncomfortable.

Though KEENs do tend to run wide, be aware that if your foot is extra wide, the sandal can be initially very uncomfortable -the strap was chafing at the side of my foot. So, if you buy this shoe and feel that it''s a bit too narrow, I''d recommend breaking them in with socks first (that''s what I did and I''m glad).Regardless, the ingenious strapping system allows you to adjust the sandal, which, done even very slightly, can make a huge difference in comfort.

I bought these for a trip to the Riveria Maya. They are very comfortable.Easy to get on and off.I wear them after work and on the weekends. They are true to size and very comfortable. The toe tends to run warm but I imagine this is true to all closed toe sandals. They are slippery when wet and makes it easy to lose your footing.Overall these are great sandals.

I bought these for a four-week vacation in which these were the only shoes I could use as I travel very light.I bought the sandals because they looked well ventilated, they are waterproof and based on the price should be well constructed.

Pros:The foot bed conforms to your feet over a period

They are very comfortable even when walking for several miles over uneven surfaces.

They are well constructed and show no wear after walking 300+ miles.

Cons:The toe cap will make your toes sweat

They dry very slowly and should not be considered if you are in and out of water... unless you are ok with your feet being wet for 4+ hours.

They hold on to odor. After 4 or 5 days, I needed to wash the shoes every evening due to the smell (and they were never fully dry in morning after 8+

hours of drying).I have owned Birkenstocks, Tevas and other sandals and never had the same level of issues with odor.

These are ok sandals but I wouldn''t buy them again.
