Bass Women''s Harriet Flat

The reviews for this shoe were mixed when it came to being true to size so I was willing to take a chance. I''ve always considered Bass as a high end shoe brand that was well made and sizing was accurate.Unfortunately that is not the case with Bass Harriet, which is made in China.I bought three pair of Bass Harriet in three different colors.I am a true 7N so when these shoes arrived, I expected them to fit.The right shoe was closet to being narrow, the left was unbelievably wide.The second pair arrived and both shoes were extremely wide.I am waiting for the third pair to arrive but I am not expecting them to fit.I have ordered another pair of shoes from Amazon but this time it is Sesto Meucci. I have ordered Sesto Meucci from Amazon in the past and the shoes fit perfectly.I sometimes think that when shoes are marked down significantly from the original selling price, as is the case with Sesto Meucci, I tend to think there is something inheretantly wrong with the way the shoes were manufactured.I''m wondering if that is the case with Bass Harriet.I hope my review helps those who have a narrow foot and are contemplating ordering these shoes.I would say, don''t bother.

As for shoe itself, it has nice leather detail and seems to be well made although there is no adjustment on the heel strap so the length has to be right.It would make a nice shoe for casual wear.

Once you break these shoes in they are fantastic. They are a little stiff at first so I put moleskins in which worked fine. They are now my favorite shoes and I get so many compliments on them.

I love the design on these shoes.I ordered a 9.5 narrow instead of my usual 9 because Bass shoes aren''t really for long, skinny feet, and they fit well.I get a lot of compliments on them, and they''re very comfortable.

Something about the rustic brown coloured leather of these flats; the slingback, the weave pattern...It all reminds me of the Caribbean. As a Caribbean (Haitian) American young woman, I was immediately drawn to these shoes. The leather is the finest quality, the shoes are very well designed; and well made, the insole provides a bit of cushionmaking these flats even MORE comfortable, the slight heel (about 3/4 inch) insures that the heel of your foot isn''t hitting the pavement as you walk, and I really admire the intricate weave pattern. It makes the shoes look more like fine artisanry than flats. I know I''ll have these charming shoes for years to come, and I look forward to revisiting them every spring and summer.

Somehow I managed to end up with one foot a little longer than the other (one is 7.5, the other 8), which forces me to buy the bigger size or have some toes crushed. I was worried that would cause one heel to suffer from the shoe strap sliding up and down, but they didn''t do that. They actually feel fine on both feet.I even wore them with knee-highs hose and the strap on the heel did not slip up and down then either.They don''t have a lot of cushioning, but still comfortable enough for all-day wear.They also have soft sole so they don''t click and clatter everywhere you walk. Recommended -for dress or casual.
