A great sandal even better than the Betula brand it replaced.Why buy a Brand Name Birkenstock at three times the price. Both Amazon and the supplier Midwest are extremly customer orientated providing prompt and courteous service.Size a little awkward at first but they form fit your foot after a little wear.I will probably order another pair for a spare.As a side note I am a diabetic and these are the most comfortable shoes I have had my feet.Now I have wasted about $35 and will stick to real Birkenstock henceforth.

I bought a pair of these about 5 years ago for $20 and wish I would have bought 5 more pairs.I quickly found out that they are the most comfortable sandals ever.I have flat feet and most sandals have a flat bottom causing my feet to ache if I walk very far but not these.These sandals have very nice arch support and after a while of wearing them, form to your feet.I searched everywhere for these sandals and all I could find was the original Birkenstocks.I finally found these on Amazon.I''m sure the Birkenstocks are just as nice if not better, but at $80-$100, these are a much better buy.

I needed new Birkenstocks bad! Between the new puppy chewing on them and how much mileage I was racking up they were worn out! So, I ordered a few pair. Today these came and a pair of "official" Birkenstocks.
I''ll give you the comparison:
Foot bed: Overall the same with a few minor differences. When I wear one of each (remember they''re newnot broken in in any way) they feel exactly the same. The leather on the Newalk is rougher looking than the Birkenstocks leather. The heel well on the Newalks is wider, but not deeper. The arch support seems to be exactly the same. The edge of the cork bed on the Birkenstocks is finished better seems to be a heavier coating (waterproofing maybe?).
The sole: Birkenstock has a sharper edge to the tread and says BIRK. The Newalk has more rounded edges with bigger tread and says Newalk. Otherwise, looks the same. Possibly the sole on the Newalk is a little softer not sure.
The uppers: I can''t compare them. The Newalk is leather (soft and flimsy like)and the Birkenstock is not (hard and stiff like). BUT.. both are equally comfortable. Buckles appear to be same quality and attached the same.
Someone mentioned the soles coming loose I''ve had that happen to my most expensive pair of Birkenstocks before. Ugh used a little shoe goo (glue), clamped them tight and let them cure. They continued to last for another year or more. The only problem was the sole shrunk a little, but was not noticeable to see or when walking.
Overall, I''m ordering 2 more pair for my older girls. Definitely worth more than the price.
Also, I ordered them from Shoozforu and they came the same day as my 2nd day pair from Amazon I was blown away... Never had that happen before.
UPDATE received the pair of Betulas I had also ordered. They are identical to the Newalks I got (except for the uppers). Same soles, tread, leather, finishing on edges, arch support, etc.. the Betulas just cost more.
Also, sizing WARNING when you order, be sure to check the product descriptions for the width size. Even though you may order a 38 M (medium) EU they might send you a 38 N (narrow) EU. It appears some sellers call the narrow equivalent to a US medium and send the narrow even though you have ordered the medium in a European size. SO annoying. If you order directly from Amazon they don''t seem to do that...

Okay, the boots felt comfortable when I tried them on. I most always wear a size 8, but these were at least one size too large possible 2 sizes. Not too happy about this as I must also pay to return them. They were also a little large around the ankle, but am guessing if i had known to order them one size smaller they would also be a little smaller around the ankle. I received these boots as a gift right before a recent trip to Europe (May 2012). They turned out to be amazing for walking all over Europe! My feet were walking on clouds..not one complain of achy feet with these. I walked in rain, so they got a bit dirty and wet, but kept my feet dry throughout it all. I am 7.5 size, so I got 7.5 M(US)--Not the wide one, and they fit perfectly! After so much walking, my feet tend to swell, so the minor extra room in the boots gave my feet a perfect space to still be comfortable and not too tight. My only CON with these is that they scratch easily. So you see a slightly lighter line of brown where the scratches are...but nothing too noticeable...only to me, since they were brand new. After so much wear and tear, you dont notice small scratches anymore. I strongly recommend these!! Totally worth the $$$ and one of the MOST comfortable shoes/boots I''ve ever worn! Best of all, they are so cute! I really like the quality of these boots. The leather is beautiful, and the zipper works smoothly. There is elastic on the side so there is some give to these boots, which is VERY GOOD. I have huge muscular calves and I usually can''t wear normal boots. (I actually ordered these thinking they were wide calf.) But I can wear these and they are just fine. The sole is a very nice non-slip too, so they are great in snow or ice. The only thing I don''t like about these boots is that they are too loose around my ankles. This may not be the case for you, but it is for me. They are not too loose that it looks strange or anything. They still look very nice and I still really like them.

These sandals are of very high quality leather very comfortable and after a month of nearly daily use, promise to be quite durable.Bought my husband a pair of these ten years ago on a whim. His favorite pair of sandals and I have to say he has abused them! Since they were his only sandal, he got them wet, wore them hiking, wore them traveling abroad, basically everything. These Clarks are well made...the exterior is good quality soft leather & the inside is a soft nylon lining so that so that our soft, babied westernized feet will not chaff against leather.The color is a deep rich tobacco brown almost like dark chocolate.The interior has a nice cushiony foamy material similiar to all Clark sandals, the side & heel strap interior is lined with a mesh material for comfort & absorb sweat.The soles are a foam light weight, really lightweight, these sandals are really light.Clark sandal soles from my experience last a long time.Okay now the bad.... the velcro strap when cinched is a little high & the top edge rubs against the lower "ball" of my ankle...I noticed this immediately after putting them on...hopefully does not rub once I break these in.I may have to get those little round felt adhesive stickons that you put on bottom of items so they do not scratch.These are made in China....nothing against that but I can understand $90.00 sandals if made in USA or Italy but made in China? In my humble experience, Clarks just doesn''t make anything that''s crap.These are very sturdy and appear to be good quality, without being terribly heavy.Buying shoes by mail-order is always a gamble size-wise, and I think these run just a hair small.I usually buy a half-size big in slippers and sandals so as to be easier to slip them on and off, but these are a perfect fit (which isn''t a complaint).I really like them, and my biggest dilemma is whether to wear them with socks :)

I love this shoe! The description says it runs a half-size small so I ordered 7.5 instead of 7, and it fits just right. My package arrived really fast and in brand new, no scuff condition. However, I didn''t give it 5 stars because I ordered the bone color and it has some darker spots, on the toe and back part of the heel. (you can see it in the pics if you zoom in) But overall a great shoe and definitely comfy.

My title pretty much says it all.These boots are extremely comfortable, and fit well right out of the box.They do need need to be broken in though, as the ankle refuses to bend when new (which makes it difficult to walk).After walking about 1 mi, they were fine. Surprisingly enough, the straps actually add a fair amount of ankle support.Appearance-wise, they look similar to the picture.HOWEVER, they are not shiny.They are a very flat black, instead of looking like a dress boot.This is a plus in my book, as I had planned to dull them up anyway as the flat black looks better.In addition, these boots do NOT have a side zipper, so if you want this feature... get a different boots.A facet not mentioned in the description is that that each sole is screwed into the sole with 25 Philips screws.Once again, this is a plus as this shoe looks like it will last for years.One last thing (purely informational), if you wear a boot-cut jean with these, all the silver studs will be covered; when you sit down, between 1-2 are revealed.

So I purchased the first pair, a 1/2 size smaller than what I normally wear. It didn''t fit and was too tight. I had to send it back. (Also, there were a few minor defects on the exterior.)
Then I bought a pair a 1/2 size larger than what I normally wear. It fit around the foot but, as I laced it and tried to zip it, I realized that it wouldn''t fit around my calf. My younger sister tried it on (14" calf) and it barely fit around hers. So if you''ve got muscular and/or chunky calves, I don''t suggest purchasing this item. I had to send that pair back, too.Heavy duty boot I use for work the only thing that would make these better would be if they were steel toes. leather is heavy duty, the belts are just high enough above the ankle to prevent pinching. I''ve worn these for 2 years now and with little upkeep and they are still in good shape.

I have wanted these for so long, so imagine my delight when they arrived. Here is my assessment: they are stunning and quite alluring, but the sizing is a bit off. I typically wear a 9 in PLV, but after reading other reviews, I ordered a 8.5, 9, and 9.5. The 9 fit well, but my heel slips out. As a result, the 9.5 was not even an option. The 8.5 was a very tight fit, but no slippage. I considered keeping the 8.5, but they are quite tight in the toe box and I would surely suffer. The end result: the 9 gets to stay, but with foot petals. Both in the footbed and also in the heel to keep my heel intact. They are a STUNNING shoe and they feel great. The fact that they have so much padding is amazing. I am used to heels, and this height is really effortless to navigatewith all the padding and stability that PLV provides. I ordered the black patent and am going to get the nappa and camel as well. They are worth it. You will not be disappointed.Wow what a beautiful shoe!They are high but not uncomfortably so as there is plenty of padding for the ball of your foot and the platform is pretty big.I bought the red suede ones and I will probably buy another color in the future as the quality of this shoe is excellent and they make your legs look amazing!Also, I ordered them on Wednesday evening and got them on Friday with regular shippingthanks Amazon!
Just an update: Still love these shoes. I wanted to have them in black but didn''t want to spend the bucks for them.Big mistake! I purchased the Kelsi Dagger Linzy instead (they are identical) and they chewed my feet up.Also, for some reason I can barely walk in these yet I can practically run in the Irina. First off, so many compliments all night long, secondly these shoes fit me a half size too big. Very strange because I read all the reviews on this site and on other sites that said if anything, the shoe fit a little small. I thought for sure I was good with my actual size 7. PLV makes a quality shoe that you can see, feel, and smell! The padding in the foot bed make this shoe comfortable to wear and help to prevent your feet from sliding forward into the shoe. The toe box on this particular style is ample and oval rather than triangular making this shoe suitable for people with wide feet (as I have). My size ranges, depending on brand and style, from 7.5 (rarely) to 8.5 (sometimes) with most being 8 (This is partly due to my wide feet). With this shoe I can wear a 7.5 and have the snugness from toe to heel and not pinch my feet to the point of crippling myself. When in doubt, I normally size up, but for this one, size down. I was looking for a new flip flop for summer and thought I would try these tone ups since I love my Skechers shape ups.I don''t think they will work like the shape ups as far as toning,(different type of sole than shape ups) but they are quite cushiony when you walk in them. There are some issues with the tone ups I found I don''t like.1. as in the shape ups, they tend to run short so I sized up--and they only come in whole sizes.2. I don''t have long toes but the toe area seems really long(and they are long on whatever size you choose) so if you have very long toes they should be fine.3. the thong strap that goes between the toes doesn''t feel thick enough so that your toes have something extra to grab onto. Overall they are probably just an "average" shoe, but one that needs some improvements.I''m an athletic5''9" 45 year old with no arches flat feet and these are the best value for this style toning thong flip flop. I purchased my second pair here on Amazon bc even with a nominal shipping cost they''re at least $ less expensive than in most stores currently selling them and I love them that much! I usually wear a 10.5 to 11 athletic shoe, however, the 10s are truly the most comfortable for me in this style.Simply try them on and take a few steps so you can feel your truest fit. I had to return them as the fit just wouldn''t do. They do look big and clunky, but actually they run very odd in fit. The space between the toe separator and the back of the shoe is a little short, and the space above the toe is too long, like for people with long toes. The toe separator should have been placed just a little higher so it would fit more evenly.I''ve never had this problem before. I wear flip flops almost year round.
I read the reviews and almost ordered a smaller size, but didn''t. If I had, I would''ve hung off the back at the heel. So much for that, very disappointing, especially leaving $15.00 on the table.The supplier, Peltz shoes was understanding in authorizing the refund, but didn''t offer to pay the shipping.

Bought older model about 1 year ago.Have been using them as water shoes,and as the dive booties in the warm waters. The Velcro straps hold the boots securely on my foot. Even on the muddyriver banks I''m not worried about loosing a shoe. The toe box is a little too big for the fins, but with a little push fits fine into my Subapro fins. The ankle-high boot keeps most of the sand and debris out, which makes them more comfortable to wear for longer periods of time. Highly recommended for all water activities. Mine have been everywhere, from the local water park to underground river caves. Love these shoes.
