Bought my husband a pair of these ten years ago on a whim. His favorite pair of sandals and I have to say he has abused them! Since they were his only sandal, he got them wet, wore them hiking, wore them traveling abroad, basically everything. Bought him a pair of Keens for the camping/wet/hiking times and he likes the Keens, but still wants to wear his Clarks! So, when I caught him trying to glue the sandals in the garage, I knew it was time for a new pair.Honestly, they are still wearable after ten years and all the abuse!Amazing...he loves the style, comfort and fit. Will go with anything they wear...highly recommend, and I don''t often write reviews.

These Clarks are well made...the exterior is good quality soft leather & the inside is a soft nylon lining so that so that our soft, babied westernized feet will not chaff against leather. The color is a deep rich tobacco brown almost like dark chocolate. The interior has a nice cushiony foamy material similiar to all Clark sandals, the side & heel strap interior is lined with a mesh material for comfort & absorb sweat. The soles are a foam light weight, really lightweight, these sandals are really light.Clark sandal soles from my experience last a long time.Okay now the bad.... the velcro strap when cinched is a little high & the top edge rubs against the lower "ball" of my ankle...I noticed this immediately after putting them on...hopefully does not rub once I break these in.I may have to get those little round felt adhesive stickons that you put on bottom of items so they do not scratch. These are made in China....nothing against that but I can understand $90.00 sandals if made in USA or Italy but made in China? How much would Clark charge if these were made in USA...$200.00?I bought some Clark slip on full toe sandals 10 years ago & they were really heavy & well made, still in good shape but expensive like $110.00 back then.I just dont think these are $90.00 sandals, more like $60.00.Another thing these sandals run true size...but remember they are going to feel loose because you are not going to be wearing socks...I wear size 10 & I have wide feet & I wish I got a size 9 instead because you do not want loose sandals rubbing against your feet.Want Clarks Men''s Charles Sandal Discount?
In my humble experience, Clarks just doesn''t make anything that''s crap. These are very sturdy and appear to be good quality, without being terribly heavy.Buying shoes by mail-order is always a gamble size-wise, and I think these run just a hair small.I usually buy a half-size big in slippers and sandals so as to be easier to slip them on and off, but these are a perfect fit (which isn''t a complaint).I really like them, and my biggest dilemma is whether to wear them with socks :)
