The Dockers Ellsworth are nearly perfect, but I have 2 complaints.I have worn these for a full summer, and have a new identical pair this year.
PROS:
> Handsome appearance I have the shiny leather, though the nubuck is equally good-looking
> Two hook & loop straps allow for fine-tuned adjustment as feet expand & contract with the weather
> Very comfortable: nice cushion & flexibility.
> The underside of all upper parts is a soft stretchy material.This is outstanding!Everywhere this contacts the top & sides of my foot feels great.
CONS:
> Outsoles can be slippery on certain dry or wet surfaces.I wish they were a little more "grippy."
> Footbed makes the soles of my feet too warm.
I really like these sandals, but those two CONS are important enough that I am still looking for the perfect all-day sandal.
I''m retired and plan on spending some time during the winter months in a warmer climate. I decided to buy my first pair of sandals....yes my first pair. Anyway, I bought these Fisherman Docker''s. They arrived quickly and upon delivery I tried them on. My they were comfortable walking around the house so hopefully they will be the same walking the beach. I can''t comment on their durability since they are new . My foot size is 11 1/2 and opted for the 11''s which seem to fit fine. I like them and at this point glad I bought them.

This would have been a 5 star shoe for me. But the left shoe is about 1/4 in longer than the right and seems slightly wider. Both seem at least a 1/4 to 1/2 size bigger than an 8. Both were wider the than expected for a "D" width. The right fits with a thick sock but the left is too loose. I think a 7.5 would fit properly, but since not available, I will have to try the next size down a 7. I would also prefer for the instep strap to be adjustable for a really secure fit, but the right fits OK, though loosely, without it. If both would fit like the right, I would keep them and just wear thick socks.
Update after receiving the size 7 (I usually wear an 8.5N). Happy Me. I had ordered the 8 because the (D) width would compensate for the 1/2 size. These shoes run really large. The 7 that I re-ordered fits me perfectly. I still have almost 1/2 inch from my toe to the front edge of the shoe. They feel good and look good. These are still not exactly size matched either, the left is still slightly longer but the instep strap is tighter, so basically good enough. I will wear them for a few days and see if their qualities continue. Buyer Beware Order 1 size smaller. Otherwise a good shoe and a really great Amazon price.
Update to update. Worn for about 40 hours. Great very comfortable with or without socks (only minor exception is the elastic at the ankle is a little tight on left shoe), look great, seem durable would be 5 stars if not the sizing problem.

These sandals are a wonderful value and after 10 years the soles were not worn out:Only the inner pad was thin.

These shoes are cute and all, but not made for people with thick ankles, as I couldn''t even begin to zip them up around my ankles.
