Circa Joan & David Women''s Nettle Open-Toe Espadrille

This shoe had the potential to be fantastic, but fell short for a few reasons:

Material:It may say leather, but only a very thin layer on the outside upper is leather.The entire shoe is lined inside with plastic, making your feet really hot.Also, while adjusting a pair of the black version, I ended up with black dye all over my hands, leaving me questioning the long term quality of the shoe.

The lace length:If you''re like me and have feet that vary in width and you wish to adjust the laces from the fully closed position shown in the picture, you will likely lose the ability to put the lace into a bow as I have.As soon as I loosened the lace, I was only able to knot it no bow.Would look a lot nicer if the lace was still long enough even for a smaller bow.

The foot bed: it''s slightly cushioned, but I prefer a bit more in high heels.Once again, it would be nice if the footbed was leather for summer wear.That would probably help with the cushioning too.

It''s really a shame about the issues because with just a couple tweaks, this shoe would be amazingly comfortable for a heel and supercute to boot.I would say if you get it on great sale, then maybe, but close to the retail price, pass.

I love these sandals, they are very comfortable.Tried to buy these at Macy''s and they never had them in stock.Great shoe!
