Well I just love these shoes!I got both the mod green and the black, and it''s truly difficult to find an outfit that doesn''t pair well with these black Pour la Victorie sandals!The mod green goes with a lot too.I think that these sandals are really very unique.They remind me of the "gladiator" style, particularly with the single braided vamp, the "studded" instep covering, and the wide ankle strap.These wonderful shoes are kind of on the "busy" side yet they are also understated.
The heel is pretty high but it does have a one-inch platform.I do think they could have thinned the platform a bit more at the shoes'' toe, to help them "roll along" a bit more, but it''s not enough of an issue to really complain about, so I didn''t subtract a star.
These shoes can really liven up an outfit without seeming to be "a bit too much".As eye-catching as they are, they are really quite subtle too.
I wish so much that these came in a lovely gold or a deep, rich brown; hopefully they will in the future.
At just under $200, these are quite pricey, but Amazon has really reduced the price (just check out what the price was to start with!).These are so pretty, sexy, and unique that I think they''re worth every penny.Just don''t show your boyfriend or husband the price tag!If he asks, do what I do:Look up at him adoringly and ask, in a soft, playful tone, if he thinks these shoes make you look sexy!That should distract him from such irrelevant issues as how much these wonderful shoes cost ...
Anyway, these are fairly comfortable to walk in, and all the more so if you slip in a clear "Dr. Scholz ''For Her'' Ladies'' dress shoe" insert.These truly are a five-star pair of shoes, so get them!
