Swedish Hasbeens Women''s Peep-Toe Slingback Sandal

I had been agonizing over buying this pair of Swedish Hasbeens for the last few months. I fell in love the retro 80''s style, but was afraid that the wood sole and width of the shoe would be uncomfortable, especially since these are pretty expensive. I finally decided to buy when the price went down recently and I am so glad I did! Based on the reviews I had seen on other websites, I thought these sandals would be too narrow in the toe and the wood sole too hard on my feet. My foot is wide at the toes and narrow in the heel and in sandals I normally wear 6.5 (in regular shoes I usually wear a 7). I decided to try the 6 and it turns out that this was the perfect size. The wooden sole is surprisingly comfortable, which I can''t say about all clogs, but the way these are carefully carved, they cradle my foot. The forefoot is actually much wider than I thought it would be so my toes come all the way to the opening unlike many peeptoe sandals I''ve tried before. The leather is slightly snug across my forefoot, but I can tell that it will stretch when worn a couple of times. I am going to take the sandals to the cobbler to have the strap altered because it is too loose. I''ll have them add an extra hole and trim the excess length from the strap. Well worth the extra effort because these make your feet and legs look really sexy, without sacrificing comfort!

I bought these swedish hasbeens last summer. When they arrived the leather was super hard and cut up my feet very badly. I wore them for short periods of time until the leather started to ease up. The leather is extremely "elastic". It has stretched so much that I have had to take them to the cobbler twice to have additional holes put into the strap. I already have to take them back again. He said this time I''ll have to have the buckle moved on the strap. Since the leather is so elastic, the sling back never stays up. I''m always stopping to pull the strap back up when I''m wearing them and it drives my husband crazy. They''re beautiful shoes, but I wish I would of invested in a pair that had an ankle strap that goes all the way around instead of the slingbacks that never stay up. They were fairly pricey and pretty annoying that I''ve had so many problems with them.

These are beautiful looking shoes and I love that they''re handmade in Sweden. They are the perfect shoes...my ONLY complaint, however is the straps. The one on my right foot, in particular, tends to slip off real easily and I know I should probably take them to a cobbler but I''m kind of afraid to know how much they''ll charge me to fix the problem. All in all, though, these are a very comfortable and stylish shoe that I definitely will be wearing for years to come. Would I recommend these? I''d definitely recommend getting a pair of Swedish Hasbeens, just, maybe not this particular style.
