Columbia Men''s Techsun III Water Shoe

Columbia Sportswear Men''s Techsun III Water Shoe, Cordovan, 11 M USThese sandals run fairly large for athletic footwear.I wear an 11-11.5 athletic shoe and a 10.5 dress shoe, and needed to return the 11''s for a 10 because they were huge.

The good: the soles on these water sandals are thick and grippy, perfect for walking over sharp rocks. The straps are padded well enough and very secure (more on that later)and I''m not afraid I''m going to lose them in muddy bottoms.

The bad: if your feet aren''t skinny (mine were just barely skinny enough), the straps will NOT be secure because they don''t have a lot of expansion length.

I use these sandals to kayak in. I fish out of my kayak and usually end up in some really shallow water, in creeks. The water gets really shallow and then deep again, shallow and then gets deep again. Through the shallow areas we have to do what we call ky-walking. That''s when you get out of your boat and drag your kayak behind you while you''re walking through the shallow water on the slippery rocks. It is very rough on any type of footwear. These sandals are doing well. Columbia makes a good product.

I ordered these sandals for my husband, for Father''s Day.He had a similar pair by Nike about 10 years ago that finally "died."These were the closest match I could find, and he loves themwears them almost everyday. He says they''re very comfortable and they look to be of great quality to me.

I spend my summers in sandals, I''d wear them all winter also but the snow here gets too deep.I bought a cheap pair of Nevados this spring to go fishing in and they broke a strap after 3 weeks. In my search for a replacement pair I saw these and thought they''d be good, Columbia products are always top of the line.Unfortunately, they are not comfortable at all.Hopefully after a few days of wear they will break in and be better. The top strap pinches my foot, there is no underlining fabric to prevent that as in some of the lower quality more expensive brands, the toe strap sides dig into the side of your foot, and the material feels scratchy and rough.

However the arch support is perfectly placed for my foot.So there''s one good thing, among the bad.I won''t be buying another pair of these, even though the quality is top notch like all Columbia gear, the pain of breaking them in isn''t worth it.
