Dr. Weil Fiesta Orthotic Slippers

Dr. Weil By Orthaheel Fiesta Wool Slipper Black 6These are stellar slippers! I cannot recommend them enough. Very comfortable. Much more comfortable than the other Leila sandals I have, which I don''t like much: with Leila sandals, my first pair of Orthaheel, feels like you are walking with a golf ball in your arch. Not with these slippers, they are awesome!! Great for plantar fascitis (spelling?). Great for all feet. All natural wool, warm, can''t go wrong. Very attractive slipper. I am going to order them in all the colors.

I have a medium to wide foot and ordered a size down, and they are still plenty big and still a half an inch too long. LOTS of room in the toes. If your foot is particularly narrow, they might be too big? I normally wear size 7 U.S. shoes, even though my foot is actually a 6.5, or a true Euro 37. The 7 (Euro 38) was almost 2 sizes too big. This is IMPERATIVE if you want to get sizing right for this shoe: If you are size 6-6.5, order the size 6! (That is Euro 37 on these shoes). If you are 7-7.5 (That is Euro 38 on this shoe). Whatever your half size is, stick to the whole number (if you are 9.5, order the size 9). They will still be half an inch too long, but they fit great that way and you can adjust the strap). Again, if you are a half size, eg. 9.5, order the 9. You are not actually getting a size smaller, it''s just that that is the proper U.S. equivalent in this Euro sizing.

This is how you need to do it. The Amazon chart is misleading. Follow the above and you will have your true size. I am a true Euro 37, always have been and, the size 6 is the one that says, "Euro 37" on the box. Very often, in North America, they write Euro 37 as equivalent to 6.5-7. In Orthaheel you need to go with the whole number to get your true Euro equivalent. If you are 10.5, order 10 and so on.

On top of it, the vendor (Orthotics Shop) is superior in their customer service. I am in Canada, but in the U.S. your shipping and returns on Orthaheel is free. Even to Canada, the shipping was very reasonable though. Follow my instructions and you will not have to return them for a smaller size.

If your size is a whole number, they will fit, but they will be roomy. I am not certain whether you would want to size down or not. I think if I was a true size 6, and not 6.5, I would still order the size 6. I might suggest ordering a 5 if your foot is narrow due to the fact that they might be too big due to the width.

If you live in the U.S., don''t worry, the vendor the Orthotics Shop, has superior customer service! I live in Canada and the shipping was still cheap, but in the U.S., you get a 30-day money back guarantee with these slippers and free shipping and return shipping -so the U.S. customers have nothing to lose. These are fantastic slippers, I cannot recommend them enough!!

UPDATE: Two weeks later, the wool stretched to such a point that these slippers still feel a size too big. If I was to do it again, I would probably order the 5 even though I am a size 6.5. Also, when you walk, it feels like they are going to fall off as there is nothing for your toes to grip on to. I just love these slippers, but they need to work on the strange sizing issues.

I bought these slippers as I was just diagnosed with supination (when walking I put all the weight on the outside/lateral side of the feet.) I''m still wearing a removable cast my podiatrist prescribed as I had a fracture on the right foot.I started removing the cast little by little and needed some slippers with the right foot support.

I have to say these are the most comfortable slippers I ever had. They''re not pretty (well, they''re not my style, my husband likes them) but they make out for it in support and comfort.

I wear a size 6, very normal feet, and yes, I have to agree with previous reviewers, the slippers are very roomy, a lot of toe space and around a quarter of an inch extra in length. I wear them with socks and because the slippers are wool the cotton socks sticks to them and they don''t shift around. I''m not sure how it''ll be towards the spring when I don''t wear socks, maybe I''ll have to get some flip flops then.

The slippers are very well made, nice construction, they''re a little heavy, which I like, no flimsy shoe here (they''re made in Spain, not China. LOL) The rubber sole is thick and perfect to run to the mailbox or even the corner store. The arch support is very good, even better than my custom made orthotics.

I wore them yesterday and today almost all day, except for 3 hours I had the cast on, and I haven''t had pain at all. I also have stairs in my house and had no problems going up and down, maybe the socks help, I don''t know.

Maybe next time I''ll buy shoes from this manufacturer I may try a size 5 to see how they fit, but it may be just this model''s design. In all I''m very happy with the purchase so far.

I''ve worn Orthaheel shoes and insoles exclusively for several years.I have a medium/wide foot, so most of the medium widths are too narrow.I was thrilled when I saw that this shoe ran large.I am closer to a size 10.5 (euro 42) but always purchase an 11 primarily because a 10.5 is nearly impossible to find. This shoe in a 11 fits like it was made for me!The length does not seem long and the width does not seem overly wide wider than a Narrow width Birkenstock, but not as wide as a Regular width Birkenstock.

I prefer Orthaheelby Dr. Weil because. though a little more expensive, the quality of the materials used is so much better than the basic Orthaheel (ie: real leather). But only in 1 pair of sandals could I find a width to fit. Most of his sizing is a true Medium.

Due to knee, leg and back problems I always wear shoes inside for the support, but slippers just don''t hold up and I won''t wear my regular street shoes in the house. These are the perfect house shoes!I also just found Dr. Weils Deva Clog which seems to have a similar footbed that will be great for out and about.I just ordered 2 pair.

As far as style I got over that a long time ago.Being pain free will do that to you!But I think these are adorable!

These are WONDERFUL for anyone with Plantar Fasciitis! My old fluffy pink Orthaheel slippers were well past their prime so I replaced them with these.Around the same time, I also purchased another pair of Dr. Weil shoes.I think that the Dr. Weil shoes are all-around better than Orthaheel. They seem to use better materials and are constructed better. These slippers in particular are fantastic. They have that nice high arch that your feet will love, and they''re actually pretty cute.I liked them so much I bought another pair to have on hand in case anything ever happens to these.I don''t want to be without them!
