Havaianas Women''s Retro Sandal

These shoes ... are so cute.Really, when you get them, they look better than they do in the picture.I got the pair shown, but in black with gold straps.I think they''re just awesome looking.That''s where the excitement ends, though.

I''m a size 8 1/2 shoe but often in sandals, I have to wear a 9 because of the way the straps rub on my feet.From other Havaianas reviews, I knew the sandals run a little large but a lot of people also said that they fit different feet ... well, differently.I ordered a size 7/8 just to be safe and was blown away ... they are HUGE!!!I didn''t get the 8/9 because I feared they would be too big; I was not expecting the 7/8 to be that way.There is so much extra room in the back that they are not only very "floppy" when I walk, but they cause me to clench my toes around the strap, in fear the shoe is going to come off, which then hurts my toes.

I''m not going to return them because I can still wear them to clean out the pond or wear as a shoe to throw on when I take the puppy out (around the house stuff), but I won''t order this shoe again without going about TWO sizes down.Consider that before you make your purchase.If you''re actually an 8/9, get a 6/7, unless you like wearing shoes that have too much room and feel as if they''re going to slide off.

I really like Havianas and this sandal was no exception.I wear them to death and the hold up very well.

I discovered Havaianas two and half years ago, shortly before a trip to Hawaii.I bought two pairs, black and orange, at rock bottom prices thinking it was insane to pay $20 for flip-flops.

Good lord, I was wrong.

These are the most wearable, walkable flip-flops I''ve ever known.I''ve walked miles in these things, across hot tar even.After two years, the original two pairs hardly showed depressions in them...this is highly unusual with the cheapos.

I recently ordered 7 new pairs (crazy, yes, I know) including the Silver and Gold Retro''s.While I love the look, I found that the size cut (though identical to all the others I ordered at 39/40) ran large at the toes and the strap rubbed differently at the in-step.I expect they''ll break in, but it taught me that not all Havaiana''s are created equal, though they still all rock.
