Shoe Goo 3.7 oz. Black Shoe Repair & Protective Coating

I used the black Shoe Goo to build up the worn toplifts of the heels of my high end dress shoes (Ferragamo, Bally, AE, etc.). Was going to take some shoes to the Shoe Cobbler but I needed to replace the toplifts on over 10 pairs of shoes.So I decided to give this a shot after seeing videos of this done.I just completed 4 pairs of shoes. Works as advertised and once the heel and sole dressing is applied over the side of the heels it looks like new.Be sure to watch the japanese videos on youtube on how to do this.Takes about 5 mins to do per heel and another 5-7 mins per heel to finish once the Shoe Goo is dried.

TIPS:

* Watch all the Japanese videos on Youtube with the reps performing this task.

* Use a flat Ice Cube to flatten and make smooth once the area is filled.

* Once Shoe Goo is dry (12 hours) start with 220 grit sandpaper to lightly sand Shoe Goo and toplift rubber flush.Can also use 400 grit to smoothen after using the 220 grit.

* I use Kiwi heel and sole edge color renew to complate the job.

* Install heel taps after, Shoe Gooo is a bit softer then the rubber on the stock heel toplifts.

I use "Shoe Goo" to repair my own shoes and to patch up my "Ultra Paw" dog booties. Great product. Definitely put some vaseline on the inside rim/threading of the tube to prevent sticking.

This is great glue, the black version of Shoe Goo, Goop, Plumber''s Goop, Automotive Goop, etc. All the 3.7 oz packs of similar looking glue are all identical,(except this is black) and made by the same company. This stuff is very strong, slightly flexible, and sticks to most everything.

To call this Shoe Goo is a a bit of a disservice to this product.Yes, I have reattached soles to several pairs of shoes with this stuff, with the repair lasting for years.But another poster pointed out the shoe goo Japanese web site with additional tips for using and working with this product.Worth a look.

This material (I prefer the black) starts out somewhat sticky and thick and not a lot of structural rigidity, but can be easily formed and pushed with a wet finger or popsicle stick.Over the course of a day it hardens to a much sturdier form.I have used it for household repairs, insulating, waterproofing and bonding smaller items.It has a permanent place in my toolbox and I prefer it over any silicone style rtv or adhesive for repairs.I''ll stick with silicone caulk for tile and tubs but everything else that I want to fix and stay fixed, I use this or plastex.
