Chaco Men''s Z/1 Unaweep Sandals
My Podiatrist recommended Chaco sandals for their good foot support.I didn''t like the looks of the standard black on black, but saw the brown on brown combo in a local store.I''ve been very happy with their comfort and appearance--better than I had expected.My only observation (not a complaint) is that the straps could be a few inches longer to ease putting them on and tightening.I do have wide feet (E), but they are not exceptionally wide.None-the-less, the foot platform is perfect in width.i would love to have been able to keep them, but i ordered a size down as was suggested in some other reviews, which turned out to be a mistake. sending stuff back is a major pain in the ass, don''t believe those idiots.

Good quality over all.Vibram sole is a plus.
The platform, however, is narrow and at the 1/3 posterior part, on the outside of your foot (close to the heel), there is an elevation where the strap is attached to, making it even narrower.
Result: you feel like you are stepping on a round flat rock all the time, on the outside, back part of your feet. Kind of uncomfortable. It is possible that if I had ordered a wide pair( do they even make it?), this problem would be less noticeable, but for now, who does have wide feet, it is kind of annoying that a high end, expensive pair of sandals like these would make you feel uncomfortable (bearable, but not pleasant).
The inner elevation is OK, because it follows the natural foot arch, the outer elevation is disruptive to natural walking, and annoying.

I''ve a pair of Z2 Unaweep sandals on my feet as I write this. These are about three years old and very comfortable, durable and (I think) decent looking sandals. They''ve been on trails, wading in the Gulf, river tripping, into town: everywhere! I wear them all the time and have yet to be unsatisfied by them. These are more like boot soles with sandal straps atop a well-formed footbed and heel-cup. I''ve a couple of friends who walked the Camino in them from Vézelay to Santiago de Compostela and they''re still wearing the same sandals five years later, albeit resoled.
I bought a second pair of the same style last week from Chaco online. I''d read several comments by other reviewers on Chaco''s site with a tag (preselected wording) about sizing "smaller than expected". What I got was a full half-inch smaller than the 12-M size I ordered (as compared to my older pair of 12-M''s), even though on the back of the last it stated the size 12-M I ordered.
Anyway, I sent the sandals back to Chaco for a size up exchange. They picked up all shipping costs and were apologetic for the inconvenience. The girl on the phone was very helpful and explained that certain models ran a size smaller than what they are listed as. I wish they''d have put that up on their page and suggested they do so.
If you''re interested in a pair and would rather order them online than trying them out at a retailer, I''d suggest calling Chaco first (888-211-1908) to get the skinny on which models are affected by the sizing discrepancies. They''re great sandals and well worth the $100. bucks, in any event. These are the best sandals I''ve ever owned and as a native Floridian who''s been wearing them all his life, this is saying something. Four stars only because I had to send them back for an exchange.

Yes, size runs at least one full size large.I am a 11 for most mens shoes, i got a size 12 and it fit, only just actually.
They are nice and fat the footbed is almost exactly one inch thick.
The thong thingy does not stand on it''s own, it flops like most sandals but if you take care how you store your sandal they will kinda stay up.that''s one thing i liked about most of my reefs was that you could get ina nd out of them really fast and not hacve to toe the thingy up.
Arch support is kinda minimal but i don''t care about that. It''s odd cuz when u look at sandal it seems like there is a huge amount of material in the arch area but it does not extend far enough under the foot to actually create any arch support.likei said, i dn''t care but they clearly blew the poodle on that one.
the footbed almost has a fuzzy look and feel to it. It''s not a smooth surface, basically they roughed it up.they didn''t need to do this, i wonder why they did, it will just collect dirt and foot juice but eventually, i am sure, it will wear away.

Order this if you are looking for a replacement for your original Mush Tevas....soft, no hard plastic emblem in the heal (like the Mush II) and well made.
One thing: after you receive them, make sure you cut the size labels out of the inside sole of both of the flip flops before you get blisters on the bottom of your feet from the labels. Also beware: the original Mush are the really noisy Teva models that make that squishing sound with every step --

I just received these shoes in the mail today. They are not as bright gold as I had hoped, they actually look more of a pewter shade, but the gold stands out in the light. The fit is a bit wide so I put some heel pads but they are still a bit loose. They are really cute & lightweight. The shoe isn''t really that high, because of the platform so it feels like you''re on a 2.5" heel. They are comfortable though. Not sure if these will go back yet.

I have had the real Born version of these sandals for years and loved them, but they are now worn and need replacing. These BOCs seemed to be the closest thing I could find, but in reality they are nothing like the originals. They are constructed with man-made materials instead of real leather. The straps are harsh and abrasive to the skin, whereas the original Born sandals feel like soft slippers. I am sure these will cut and give me blisters even with minimal walking. They also look cheaply made. The uppers have a strange, almost plasticized shine to them, and there are parts where the stitching is coming out (despite the fact that they are brand new). They are worth only about half of what they cost (which was $25). They definitely don''t merit having "Born" written anywhere on them.I absolutely love Born shoes and own several pairs but I was not impressed with these Born flip flops.I have narrow feet and these flip flops are too narrow even for me.Even after a breaking in period they are just not that comfortable.I am surprised because Born shoes are usually extremely comfortable.I ended up givinv these shoes to my daughter and she says they are uncomfortable as well.

i wear these shoes when i am riding my fixed gear around. the first day i rode to sunflower cafe and as i stopped and tried to get my feet out of the straps i found i couldnt and fell over onto my right side. Feet still in the pedals and straps. Be careful of how tight your staps are with these shoes. its soles really get the pedals to stick to them. the tread design is fantastic. the arch support is subtle but nice on these shoes and the bungee cord color is a nice and earthy.definitely reccomend these shoes. ill put up some pictures sometime

Shoe Goo 3.7 oz. Black Shoe Repair & Protective Coating
I used the black Shoe Goo to build up the worn toplifts of the heels of my high end dress shoes (Ferragamo, Bally, AE, etc.). Was going to take some shoes to the Shoe Cobbler but I needed to replace the toplifts on over 10 pairs of shoes.So I decided to give this a shot after seeing videos of this done.I just completed 4 pairs of shoes. Works as advertised and once the heel and sole dressing is applied over the side of the heels it looks like new.Be sure to watch the japanese videos on youtube on how to do this.Takes about 5 mins to do per heel and another 5-7 mins per heel to finish once the Shoe Goo is dried.TIPS:
* Watch all the Japanese videos on Youtube with the reps performing this task.
* Use a flat Ice Cube to flatten and make smooth once the area is filled.
* Once Shoe Goo is dry (12 hours) start with 220 grit sandpaper to lightly sand Shoe Goo and toplift rubber flush.Can also use 400 grit to smoothen after using the 220 grit.
* I use Kiwi heel and sole edge color renew to complate the job.
* Install heel taps after, Shoe Gooo is a bit softer then the rubber on the stock heel toplifts.
Cool stuff and easy to work with.

To call this Shoe Goo is a a bit of a disservice to this product.Yes, I have reattached soles to several pairs of shoes with this stuff, with the repair lasting for years.But another poster pointed out the shoe goo Japanese web site with additional tips for using and working with this product.Worth a look.This material (I prefer the black) starts out somewhat sticky and thick and not a lot of structural rigidity, but can be easily formed and pushed with a wet finger or popsicle stick.Over the course of a day it hardens to a much sturdier form.I have used it for household repairs, insulating, waterproofing and bonding smaller items.It has a permanent place in my toolbox and I prefer it over any silicone style rtv or adhesive for repairs.I''ll stick with silicone caulk for tile and tubs but everything else that I want to fix and stay fixed, I use this or plastex.

Very comfortable when I''m on my feet for 4 hours as a cashier and definitely more attractive than sneakers. Would recommend a waterproofing spray to protect the suede-like material from weather. Timberland might want to tuck a note in with the shoes regarding this type of protection to keep shoes looking good!

These are all right shoes. I wasn''t super-delighted with them. I love clogs/mules because they''re so easy to put on and take off, but these aren''t especially comfortable when you''re walking around on your feet all day either at work or shopping. I got them for $5 after a $20 gift certificate, but I have to say I probably wouldn''t have paid $25 for them, much less $80 full price.I''ll also agree with the other reviewer that they run on the narrow side.These shoes are great, and the fit is perfect. I have worn these sandals daily with total comfort. There is an ergonomic rise in the foot bed just aft of the toe area that may bother some but seemed fine to my feet. I would highly recommend the Skechers Gaucho sandals to anyone looking for a better looking casual sandal. Ankle buckle is not stretchy so you have to buckle and unbuckle every time you put the shoes on and take off. These shoes are true to size and are a little it wider than most other platforms so they are very comfy. Both straps are adjustable so I was able to achieve a perfect fit. These shoes are really well made and very nice looking. The platform is almost as tall as the heel so they are comfortable and easy to walk in if you are use to walking in heels. These sandals would look good with almost anything, I plan to wear them with skinny jeans or maxi dresses. I am very happy with my purchase and will purchase from this brand again.
