But they fit perfect and are so cute. Just wish not scuffed for the Money I paid for them.I am wearing these boots as we speak. As soon as I ripped open the box they were on my feet and laced up.These boots are absolutely fantastic, beautiful, and completely worth the price. They run large--I usually wear an 11-1/2, and the 11 fits perfectly with room enough for socks. The calves can be tightened up quite a bit.The leather was stiff at first, but is already becoming more supple as I break them in. And lord, the smell of genuine leather is intoxicating :)

I have these in the brown and they are just the most fabulously beautiful boots. My regular size 7 was not available, but I wanted them so bad I went ahead and ordered a 6.5. I have other Frye boots and I figured I would be fine because so many of them fit big. Not these. They aren''t actually short lengthwise, but I can''t get my toes up into that extra space in the top of the boot because they are so narrow and I have narrow feet!!! Perhaps stupidly, I decided to keep them even though I knew it was going to be painful to wear them. I have tried boot stretching spray and thick socks and they have loosened considerably, but they still hurt my pinky toes when I wear them. So, I would say these boots ARE true to size, do not order down. The leather was a bit stiff at first (though very smooth), but I conditioned them with Frye conditioner and the leather softened right up. I love the non-slip rubber sole, but most of all I love how sleek and streamlined the style is. The fact that I can say they are my "Katniss" boots doesn''t hurt either (I have read that these are the boots Jennifer Lawrence wore in "The Hunger Games" in the beginning hunting scene. I don''t know for sure, they look like them, but I haven''t seen a close-up. It kind of makes you wonder how a girl from District 12 could afford $400 boots, but I digress, and if you haven''t read the books or seen the movie you don''t care anyway!)!Read Best Reviews of FRYE Women''s Melissa Tall Lace Boot Here
LOVE THIS BOOT! Nice leather. Low, comfortable heal. BEAUTIFUL!Cant say enough good things about this boot. Its my favorite pair of anything I have. I didnt need them. I have lots of boots already. Gave them 4 stars though because they are a bit expensive for them to be made in Mexico. At 400.00 one would think they would have been made in America like the Frye Campus Boot. But I love em just the same. May order another color!Want FRYE Women''s Melissa Tall Lace Boot Discount?
I ordered these in December but didnt actually see them until February because I was outworking outside of the states. I normally wear an 8 1/2 size, after reading several reviews decided to just go with that size, however I definitely had problems fitting my foot into the boot at first. I ended up loosening the laces to get more leverage and eventually managed to get my foot in, with a snug fit (I could not wear jeans tucked in, or socks, thin stockings still worked). They are definitely very cute, I just wish I had ordered a larger size, because, probably due to how tight they were, I began to develop blisters after half a mile of walking in them beats me how Katniss hunted in these things she probably had more feminine feet than I.
So: if you have wide(ish) feet, order a half size up
