Sperry Top-Sider Authentic Originals Mens Boat Shoes

My new Topsiders have a better initial fit than all my previous pairs. I guess being produced in China has slightly changed the dimensions, in my case to the better.

This pair is the two-toned version (brown & black) which are best for traveling as they will go with any color clothing. They used to have another travel advantage as after 9/11 they were the only pair of shoes you didn''t have to remove at airport security. The TSA folks knew they had no arch support and wouldn''t set off the metal detectors. Unfortunately, during the last year the TSA now insist all shoes go through the x-ray machine.

I have owned many pair in the past several decades including the Gold Cup (which are the most comfortable with the best support although a bit pricey) and this is the first pair that make my feet black when not wearing socks. Evidently, the dye they are now using is not colorfast. They have not been wet or worn on the water yet, they have only been worn in an urban environment. Hopefully, with age they will stop bleeding.

Otherwise, if they can correct the dye problem, they appear to be well constructed even though they are now made in China.

Terrifically comfortable shoes.I wear mine to work in the office.(I am a physician in private practice.)

I was extremely unhappy even at first when I received the shoes and saw that the insole only extended to the mid point of the shoe. It reduced support and made the inside feel rough and not very comfortable. I wore them for a time over the summer and the sole on both has split in the mid point of the front. I had owned Topsiders from Sperry before and they lasted for years, dealing with salt water from my sailing and other activities.

It will be a long time before I can be convinced to buy a Sperry product again. They have obviously totally taken quality out of the equation.

I''d buy this shoes so many years ago, and I''d was very happyby the quality and confort offered by this shoes,but now i''d found it a little bit uncomfortable, and the materials used in this shoes are a little hard,and cheaper, and now are made in Dominican Republic, not at the USA as always.

unfortunately for me these shoes the color began to fade, transferring it into my socks, and by the end of the day my feet are very sore, definitely a bad imitation of the original.
