SOLE Thin Casual Footbed

After having great results with the thicker SOLE footbeds, I wanted to try these in a dress shoe without a removeable insole.This fits the bill necely, and the faux-suede finish is a nice, durable touch. My shoes are more comfortable than before, but the arch support of these is nowhere near as good as what I get with other SOLE footbeds. The whole construction seems more flexible and less robust not sure if the price is warranted in this case.

These things are remarkable.I have accessory navicular syndrome and on several occasions have injured my feet playing sports; any sharp torsion of the arch or tibialis posterior tendon can cause a long period of very painful local inflammation at the navicular, the "keystone" of the foot arch.I have tried very expensive, prescription, custom made arch supports in the past, with only modest relief.My latest physical therapist recommended SOLE inserts, and I was stunned.Instant relief from pain--right out of the box.Not only that, but they worked even BETTER with use!Because their technology automatically conforms to your feet with continued wear.Or, if you want instant customized insoles, you can pre-form them by heating them briefly.Frankly I doubt that that is ever necessary because they feel so darned good out of the box (I now have 3 of them: Thin Casual, Thin Sport, and Softec Response--one for each type of activity).

Here''s another wonderful feature: they make very thin models, like this particular one, which will fit into any shoe that already fits you.Example: I have a pair of ballroom dance shoes that fit perfectly--without an insole.They were expensive but I assumed I would need to buy a larger pair to use insoles--yet after the injury, I would only be able to dance for awhile with orthotic insoles.Enter these SOLE Slim Casual Insoles: they were so thin that they did not require larger shoes.

Another advantage: they are very stiff, so they slide in and out of shoes easily, unlike most other insoles which are floppy and difficult to insert without them bunching up.

They also come in thicker, more cushioned versions which are wonderful for sports requiring more shock absorption than ballroom dance--like basketball.

And...they''re pretty cheap, too!If you have arch pain, how can you not try these?I''d go even further: if you have arches that are at risk (either too flat or too arched) and are an active, athletic person, I''d suggest that you consider getting some SOLE insoles preventatively.They''re that good.

Also, if you''re active duty military, you have special requirements that the SOLE has been designed and tested for.

The arches on these SOLE insoles were too high and too far back on my foot. They were not painfully uncomfortable, but I wasn''t willing to "get used to them" since Superfeet Black insoles fit me very well. I thought I''d give the SOLE moldable insoles a try based on user reviews, but the SOLE insoles weren''t for me. Fortunately, SOLE offers a generous 90 day return policy.

SOLE inserts work great for my slightly flat feet. If you have high arches, these are not the best fit and checkout Spenco ones instead.

I now have two pair of these.I placed a pair in a new pair of sneakers and a new pair of shoes.The footbeds, as they like to be called, are a little hard, but I have high arches so I went with these because they are thin.Thin seems like the way to go in the cold weather as thick socks might also be doable.The downside of thin is the firmness.

I am finding that these footbeds have me standing straighter and have redistributed the extra pressure I had been placing on the big toe area of both feet.I have also noticed minor occasional aches in me knees, possibly from pronation, have gone away.

I never tried a more cushioned pair of footbeds, and maybe they''d have worked just as well, and made me feel like I was on a cushion of air.My four star rating reflects, the shortcoming of the product, but I am 4 1/2 star happy, firmness be darned.At $40+ a pair, I''m not in the mood to experiment looking for the perfect footbed.I started with these, and I''m sticking with these.
