I first tried on these shoes at the mall. I was ready NOT to like them based on the price tag. I really shouldn''t have tried them on though, as I did not want to take them off.That is all I have to say about these shoes.
However, on a side note, I do have to comment on the 2 star review: These are not the proper shoe design to utilize for plantar fasciitis. I would suggest not giving this product 2 stars because you were misinformed as to what type of shoe is proper for plantar fasciitis.(Sorry, just had to say something after reading that review).

I have history of ankle and feet arch problems and need very stable, comfortable shoes. This shoes are so comfortable that I wore them all day without breaking in the very first day I put them on. Heel is not too high, but not flat. Would buy again.I bought these shoes to help my plantar fasciitis.They are expensive, around $180.They did not help and seem to make my plantar fasciitis worse. I have been wearing them for about six months.I am very disappointed.

I own several Jack Rogers sandals. This is my first pare of this style. I can see why some might think that they are "fake" they are authinitic but just different than the standard. They arrive a little tight like most jack rogers sandals the metal accents hurt the sides of my feet but I am hoping that will change after they are streched out. It would also be nice if they had a peice of leather behind the medallion to cusion your feet from the stiching. Overall a great buy when they are on sale but def don''t pay full price not worth it.

Okay, keep in mind... I live in California and it''s October. I own these in HOT PINK. If you want black boots to wear every day I recommend forking over more money for real leather. For what I paid, I got my money''s worth. They don''t have cushion but, the interior leaves plenty of space for you to add your own supports. I wore them to the office with a matching hot pink shirt and black skirt. They loved them. I have no idea how I pulled that off. Hahaha! I wore them to a Garbage concert. Shirley Manson! Who-hoo! I stood on my feet at the Palladium in Hollywood for 3 hours. I had only mild discomfort b/c I hadn''t bought my inserts, yet. These are velvet and they are so soft! Women clearly could tell that they were velvet and drooled over them. I think I just made Amazon and Qupid some money. ;) I love them and so will you. Make sure you are certain what size you are. Measure them at a shoe store. ie Payless My feet shrank from a 9 to an 8 within the period of 3 years. I don''t fit any of my old shoes and went shoe crazy on Amazon. I had been "off" Born sandals for a couple of years; there just were no styles that really appealed to me, even though I have been a fan in general.So when I saw the Beatrice this year, I had to give it a try.Born is one of the few brands I can order off the Internet without even trying them on.Upon opening the box, I freaked a little because the middle of the upper the part where your foot first goes in looked so narrow, but yay!They fit nice and snug without being tight.I bought a size 8 (I have weird feet that can wear size 7 1/2 to a 9), and the medium width suits my wide-ish foot.And I particularly am pleased that with the black Beatrice, the footbed is also black.(Same as with the brown, which might be my next purchase!)The heel height is just right for me, not too flat but just enough lift so they look great with capris.The elastic area is extremely small and really does not stretch more than a 3/16 of an inch, so don''t expect these to expand too much.The footbed material is very sturdy, just short of rigid, and does not flex very much.The buckle is very subdued, and I can see and feel no areas that will rub much.In the past, the black dye has come off onto my feet; I have not worn these enough yet to see if the Beatrice will also, so I will update on this later.Worth every penny to have happy feet.Edited 6/12/2012:Hmmm.These sandals did not squeak for the first few days, but they sure do now.It seems to be coming from the top and sides, NOT the footbed itself.Still, I like them and will keep them; when walking along a busy street, I hardly notice the squeak.Indoors, very squeaky.I also noticed another reviewer saying they were too narrow.And I agree that they are narrower than most Born sandals I have owned.But as I note, I have a wide foot (front half mostly) and bunions (both feet, both big toes and pinky toes) and I find these quite comfortable.They have stretched a bit since the very first day of wear.

These shoes are incredibly comfortablethey get more and more comfortable the more you wear them.Do not return them if they are slightly tight as they do stretch and conform to the shape of your foot.
My toes touched the end when I got them, but now they are perfect.
You can throw them in the washing machine and dry them afterwords and they will be tight, but after 15 minutes they stretch right back to the heavenly comfort that you had beforejust sweet smelling after the wash.
I have worn traditional flip-flops all of my life, never wanting to wear regular shoes (other than for work). I got tired of having a thong between my toes, but I like the feel and openness of flip-flops. Last fall, while in Maui, I was looking for a flip-flop alternative, more of a clog type of shoe that I could just slip into on the run. My shoes run size 14 which makes it hard to find things. A salesperson turned me onto these. The backs are soft so that they can fold down and have a clog accessibility without being too uncomfortable and they can be worn like a shoe. The best thing of all is they feel like flip-flops on your feet. They breathe and have the openness of a flip-flop. I got size 16 (two sizes larger than I normally wear) and they feel great on my feet, not too big. Since returning from Maui, I have shelved my 12 pairs of flip-flops and solely use these.
I do wish Sanuk made a clog type of this size, even though, as I said, the backs fold down easily, I still would like a clog.
If you like flip-flops but are tired of having that strap in-between your toes, these are a great solution.

This boot is great quality and the sizing is good.But the liner inside the boot bunches when my six year old tries to put it on himself.Maybe he will eventually figure out how to pull on the liner to put the boot on but for now I have to fix it every time he puts them on.We are keeping the boot because it is very warm and waterproof.But I just thought someone should mention the liner problem.Also, the blue color is a little purple.It''s very unisex but my son does notice it.

I bought these sandals for my mother for a trip we will be going on to the Dominic Republic.
