I''ve owned similar Birkenstocks before, and I ordered this only because I needed new ones. My old Birkenstocks lasted me a good three years, and I would still wear them, but unfortunately, I lost one of the shoes.
For me, I had no trouble breaking into these ultra comfortable shoes. I do advise, however, that although these shoes are comfortable, they aren''t good for extremely long walks because the arc can tire your feet out faster than usual.
I love how I can wear just about anything with these sandals, and I also love how it''s not shaped like some cheap flip-flop. They don''t look waterproof, but they handle water just fine, and they can last way longer than Rainbows if you take care of them.
Overall, I strongly recommend trying these shoes!
After reading a couple of reviews, I decided to go ahead and take the chance to buy these sandals. I was afraid they would ship the wrong size (per other customer''s feedback) or that I wouldn''t like the design.
I couldn''t be happier! The sandals arrived relatively quick, just a couple of days from the purchase date. I received the right size and I love the design.

I have many pairs of Birkenstocks... I rarely wear any other shoes.The Madrid style has the same incredibly adaptive and support foot bed with the style of the original Dr. Scholl sandals (much more comfortable).Because there is only one strap across the front, they behave more like a flip flop than other styles I own. If you''re used to that, you''ll have no problem with them. As always, the foot bed breaks in quickly. (TIP: put them on after a hot shower while you feet are steamy warm, they''ll just mold around your foot).The silver is a nice muted metallic which allows you to dress them up or down.This particular style might not be the best for long walks (given the single strap) but they are still super comfortable.

Love the look of the single strap Madrid, a little more femminine than the double strap.Right out of the box these were the perfect fit....was a little concerned about break in period etc...but as soon as I put them on they were amazing wore them around the house in the evening, in the morning put them on after my shower and went for a 2 hour walk absolutely no sore spots at all; did not want to take them off.Would highly recommend Birkenstock sandals to anyone, feels like you are walking barefeet.Will definetly invest in a few more pairs in different colors.Sizing was good, normally wear a 9 9 1/2 ended up with the 41N and they are perfect.Can definetly notice the difference from the copy cat brands sold in Walmart etc....NO COMPARISON get the real thing you will not regret it :)

After many years of passing up Birkenstocks for more feminine sandals, I relented and decided I wanted a pair of quality shoes for summer.My first thought?Birkenstocks.When viewing a Birkenstock shoe you can easily see the quality and know that they will last for many seasons to come.That said, quality may not always mean comfortable right out of the box (lol).My feet are flat and Birkenstocks appear to be made for those with higher arches.I am literally trying to wear them as often as I can to "break them in" hoping that they will get more comfortable as they get worn.They actually hurt my feet so much when I first put them on that I waited a month before trying them again.I have had other pretty decent quality shoes throughout my life and very few of them hurt after wearing them for a few minutes.
Hopefully in a month or so the foot-bed will mold to the shape of my feet.If not, no more Birkenstocks for me... sadly.
These shoes are very pretty and comfortable. I love them and would recommend them for purchase. I want to buy some of the other colors too.
