I am a closer to fifty than forty(comfort is a must) and when I spoted this shoe I fell in love in love with it. I had 5 gold shoes to try and the other four where flimsy and not sturdy and did not give that custom fit that I need. I can''t review this product because Amazon sent me a wrong item, I contacted them to tell them about the problem and of course they ask me to return the product so they can replace it BUT I LIVE IN DOMINICAN REPUBLIC!!!!!! Returning the wrong item would have cost me more than 50 dollars!!!! I tried these on and immediately returned them. There is no reinforcement at the toe, its basically a sock with a rubber(?) sole. Your feet slide around when you try to walk. I think if I had kept these my toes would have worn through the front in a matter of weeks, not to mention zero protection from the cold. One other thing that I probably should have noticed before buying, unfortunately I missed it, but there is a huge, unsightly seam at the back of the boot when you unfold it to wear it ''tall''. We have purchased these shoes for our three-year old for wearing at preschool. The shoe looks super cute, did not have the typical Crocs'' plasticky smell and is running a bit small. Our son is a 9 to 9.5 size and the size 10 will not fit him for long. That''s that. Now getting into the shoe is not that easy as the "heels" are folding down once you try to get the little feet into the shoes. So you have to fumble a bit to retract the heel from inside the shoe. That is a bit time consuming. Then a personal issue: while at school, the other kids found it rather funny to untie the laces and the teachers had to tie the laces all the time. So he is now wearing these shoes only on the weekends, when we have plenty of time to get ready and nobody will untie his laces. Conclusion: I will not buy another pair of these, but the crocband sneakers instead. We had two of those already and I wanted to try something new. I ordered a pair of these when my son''s school sneakers decided to malfunction 2 months before the end of school. To be honest, the main reason I got these was the price, since I didn''t want to shell out funds when I know in two month summer vacation will be here and I''ll hardly be able to get my kid to wear shoes anyway. But aside from that, we have owned "traditional" Crocs in the past, so I felt good about the brand and had reason to hope that they would be comfortable. I also knew my son would think they were "cool" ... He''s 6 and the red laces were really a no brainer. He specifically wanted shoes with laces, which surprisingly are no longer the norm in his age group. He was excited to be able to tie his own shoes but his last sneakers had the weird "bungee" tie (which is what broke, incidentally, leading me to buy these). Anyway, so far so good. They seem true to size. The toe box is very roomy, which is great for my wide-footed son. I am excited about the Croc footbed, with no smell-absorbing insert. This seems like it will be a good sneaker for summer-wear, if something more substantial than flip-flips or sandals is needed. They are just canvas atop a Croc bottom, which seems like it would be cool enough for summer wear. I would not use these for winter wear, but spring fall should be okay. I think this shoe could even get wet and dry out easily, given the Croc bottom. I wouldn''t use them for water shoes, obviously, but if he were to slip in the creek or a puddle I think there would be no harm. I''ve never worn any shoes as comfortable as these right out of the box. I wear anorthotic and because these are double depth there is plenty of room. I have older pair of Drew shoes but they are not as nice as these. They are easy to get on and off and it''s like walking on a cloud. A+++++++

I''m a size 7, but I ordered a size 6.5 since I read on various websites that these boots fit very large (and I believe Steve Madden has a larger fit in general from my past experiences). Well, contrary to the large sizing, I found they fit very small. I could barely get my foot into the 6.5 so I''ll be returning them for a size 7.5. Other than that, for just under $40, these boots are so worth it! It''s a nice quality suede with a good quality zipper... they aren''t cheaply made (which is not something I expect from Steve Madden). My only complaint other than the sizing is the fact that there is no cushion on the inside. They are very hard and I may have to buy an insole. Also, the chunky heel is very comfortable to walk in. So if you''ve got skinny feet like me then these aren''t the best boots. I am old but not dead yet and like stylish shoes and have a very narrow foot.I ordered these shoes in my normal size 8N and they were to short but the width was perfect.I have reordered them in an 8 1/2N and I hope they are not to wide.Narrow sandles are hard to find.So far this year I have ordered 8 pairs of various brands and they are all to wide.
