Neil M Men''s Rome Slip-On Loafer

These are the most comfortable shoes in my closet. The only thing that feels more comfortable are my Birkenstock sandals. I have four pair of Neil M. Romes and will buy more if I can find them on sale. These are the ONLY shoes I have found that work well with custom orthotics. I have flat feet, and I used to run a lot, which resulted in some other foot problems. So I had to have a foot doctor make me some rigid and semi-rigid orthotics (for $400!). Well, they cause pain in just about every pair of shoes I have, except running shoes and Neil M. Romes. I wear my Romes at work all day, then when I get home, I''ll notice a couple of hours later that I''m still wearing them! That''s because my feet feel so good I don''t even notice my shoes. That NEVER happened with any other pair of shoe I''ve worn to work. I notice the Neil M. literature says their shoes are made to accommodate orthotics. If you don''t normally wear orthotics, and you find that there''s a little too much room in your Romes, just put arch supports in the shoes. The smooth leather Romes do show some wrinkles after you wear them a couple of times. The leather is soft, but they won''t look brand new after the first couple of wearings. The suede Romes seem to hold their good looks longer, but I know a lot of people avoid suede because you''re not suppose to get it wet.

My husband is a bunion sufferer and these shoes are top notch for him.The leather is really soft, and they don''t irritate his feet.We purchased the black pair but already had the brown pair.This is a fantastic shoe and although it is costly, pain-free feet is all that matters....well worth the expense.

As other reviewers noted, shoes are longer and narrower than marked size (10.5B ordered, actual size approx 11.5A).Pair I received were made in China, not US.Neil M US-made shoes are great but apparently their Chinese factory is not held to the same standards.

I own these shoes in three colors.What absolute comfort!Stability is also very good as your foot does not roll like with other slip-on brands.I''m regularly a size 10.5 in lace-up dress shoes and the size 10 fits perfectly.I would recommend ordering a half size down from lace-up sizes for this specific model.The leather is soft and softens even more with time and wear.

You can dress these up with dress pants and a jacket or down with jeans.They are quite versatile.Moreover, they are made in the USA which I see as a big plus.They don''t wear down easily and last for years.Strong recommendation to purchase!

Don''t purchase from SoleConnect.After three months of wearing the brown shoe a handful of times, the rubber bottom began to separate from the upper leather part.I contacted the seller via Amazon and a refund or a replacement was refused because they state the return window closed.As mentioned in the original intact review above, I own three pairs of these shoes in different colors.There is NO problem with the shoes (tan and black) purchased at my local retail store even though I''ve worn them many more times.

I brought the shoes purchased from SoleConnect (along with the other two pair purchased at a local store) to a shoe cobbler who does work for Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus.The store has been around the Washington, DC area for many years and is very reputable.He indicates that the shoes from SoleConnect are in his opinion junk and not the same quality as the other two pair of Neil M Shoes purchased in a local retail store.The repair cost is $25 for both the right shoe and the left shoe because both shoe rubber bottoms are peeling off the leather upper.Even then, the shoe cobbler is reluctant to say these will last.I''ve always praised Neil M Shoes and have many pair; however, I can no longer recommend this pair purchased from SoleConnect.Buyer Beware.

I bought these a few months back, and I am quite satisfied. These shoes are very comfortable, and do not require much breaking in. I highly reccomend trying these on. Also, the footbed is removable, making these easier to customize to any foot shape or size. I personally left it in, and added tongue pads and am very satisfied.
