My wife lives in Birks during the summer (and most of the other seasons as well). She wears them out. She has always worn the standard 2 strap standard model, but recently switched to this style that wraps around the big toe. She likes the look and they are as comfortable as ever. The first time I saw these shoes they were breath taking.I waited a few weeks to see if the attraction was still there and when I looked at them a second time, they were still breath taking. So I bought them. Imagine my total disappointment when they finally arrived and were too small for my feet.
I do not live in the US and have all my shopping stored with someone until I get a good sized box, then I have them ship it to me.
By the time I got these shoes, I only had 2 days to return them and knew it would be costly as well as futile to do so. SO I am stuck with these gorgeous shoes which are too small for me.

I mean a 7 will be OK but a 7.5 will be better. I returned these shoes. I need shoes that I can wear barefoot for water aerobics. These shoes had some kind of sharp seams and whatnot on the inside -I was not confident that those would soften up and go away over time. Also, these shoes were fairly loose in the back (and I ordered a half-size smaller than my usual size). I will keep shopping to try to find another shoe.

They are the cutest sandal, true to size in length, but way too wide for me.Broke my heart to return them but i have a narrow foot.I even asked a cobbler if he could make them smaller by re stapling them smaller, but he advised against that as it may damage the wood.I have many pairs of Swedish Hasbeens and truly love them all.I really can ''t say a bad word about any of them.I just wish they would consider people like me who have a very narrow foot.It seems to be only with the low ones.My braided low are not quite as wide as the Neon, I can get away with wearing them and not having my foot go all the way through.My sky high slip in, covered super high, and t-strap slip in, are perfect.Waiting for my pink t strap low!I''ll review them when I get them!

I tried these shoes on in a store so I had the benefit of knowing the size prior to ordering online.That said, the velcro strap allows for custom fit for the back of the shoe.I wear between a 9 and 9-1/2 and the European size 40 fit fine in front and in back.The strap originally hit the ankle bone on one foot but adjusting the velcro strap eliminated that and the shoe was very comfortable the rest of the day.I would recommend any of the Spring Step shoes.They are all leather, made with quality and the sandals come with an additional heel when the original one wears down.Spring Step is my new favorite shoe brand.Very unusual styles.You will get lots of compliments on these shoes.Want Spring Step Women''s Flourish Sandal Discount?

my heel wouldn''t stay on when walking, and i don''t think my heel is too wide for size 38 shoe.so to me, the back is too skinny.
the velcro closure hits right at the malleolus (that bone that sticks out on the inside of the stance), which would become annoying IF i were to wear it for any length of time.
all these reasons, will be returning it.

This sandal is very nice, good cushioning, but it is not true to size. I wear a 7&1/2 regular width shoe and I am having to send the first pair back to get the 8 instead. The sandal runs a bit snug and, if you have borderline feet that MIGHT be a little wide, you should order a wider width. I may add to my review later, but on first appearance, the workmanship is excellent and the design is very nice. Cushioning, as I said, is nice, but don''t expect any arch support if you have low arches. I also find it annoying when I have to return items directly to the seller and cannot do so through Amazon. This seller also will not let you return an replace an item in the same transaction. You have to do each transaction separately.UPDATE 10/1/11 Comfortable shoes, great construction, except for one thing.....they smell horrible! I have never in my life had ANY problems with foot odor. But I cleaned them with febreeze, tried to only wear them once a week, it didn''t matter. After about 2 hours of wear, I could smell a sour odor from the shoes. I usually wear a size 7 and was afraid it would be too snug so I ordered sizes 7 and 7.5 the size 7 itself was large! There was enough space in the heel to fit 2 fingers, so these shoes are not true to size. I would recommend getting a half size smaller. Would have exchanged for a 6.5 but found wedding shoes elsewhere.
